The first flight of the 2018 888Live Poker Festival Bucharest €888 Main Event with a guaranteed prize pool of €288,000 attracted a field of 110 entries and thus far, 27 players advanced to Day 2 at the stunning JW Marriott Grand Hotel Bucharest in the heart of the Romanian capital. A bigger field is expected in the second regular starting day that kicks off at 1 p.m. local time and last night's satellite generated another 20 entries.
Day 1b kicks off at 1 p.m. local time in the Grand Ballroom and a total of 11 levels of 45 minutes each are scheduled for today with a break every three levels. After the end of level six, a 60-minute dinner break takes place and the registration and unlimited re-entry period closes with the start of level eight.
All players receive a total of 30,000 in chips and the event features a 30 second shot clock after which the hand is declared dead. Upon taking a seat, all participants receive two additional time bank chips of 60 seconds each.
Local player Nicolae Sorin Son topped the counts with 203,000 but other big names such as Catalin Pop (185,500), Luca Moschitta (185,000), Alexandru Papazian (162,000), and 888poker ambassador Vivian Saliba 146,500 were hot on his heels. Saliba's team mates Natalie Hof and Sofia Lovgren will be representing 888poker at the tables today.

The €50+10 Ladies Event is scheduled to kick off at 3 p.m. local time with levels of 20 minutes, a starting stack of 10,000 and the registration and re-entry period remains open for the first six levels.

The Turbo Day 1c will feature levels of 22 minutes each and a brief summary and the chip counts will be provided before the start of Day 2.
Andrei Racolta and Georgios Tavoularis are the two early big stacks and the latter just scored a knockout over on table one in set over set fashion.
Tavoularis raised to 600 from under the gun and was called by Alexandru Cinca and Razvan Nicolae Sabau in the small blind. The flop of was checked to Cinca, who bet 900 and both called. On the turn it was once again Cinca that bet 4,200 and Sabau as well as Tavoularis called.
Sabau then shoved the river and Tavoularis called, Cinca folded. Sabau showed for a full house, but Tavoularis had the better full in . "Nice hand man, but I did most of the work," Cinca joked.
On a three-way flop of , Mihai Manole had checked out of the small blind and faced a bet of 1,350 and a call by Ahmed Fadhel in the cutoff. Manole check-raised to 4,100 and the initial bettor folded, Fadhel called. The appeared on the turn and a bet of 3,100 won the pot for Manole without further resistance.
Natalie Hof doubled since coming back from the break and has a host of big names on her table including Dan Murariu, Danut Chisu and Alexandru Farcasanu. The latter re-entered and just arrived on the table when Murariu had raised to 800 and was called by Hof, the small blind and Chisu in the big blind.
On the flop, action checked to Murariu and he bet 2,500. Only Hof called and the appeared on the turn. Murariu slowed down and checked, Hof bet 5,800 and that won the pot for the 888poker ambassador right there.
A big pot was brewing over on table 20 and Aldo Monteleone bet the heads-up river of for 20,000. Levente Pal was his sole remaining opponent and moved all in for another 5,000 on top, which Monteleone called.
Pal turned over for two pair, queens and jacks. Monteleone mucked his cards to heavily that the was exposed and apparently had the worse two pair. Monteleone lost the remainder of his stack shortly after while Pal jumped to six digits.
On a flop of , €230 Opening Event runner-up Eduard Norel bet and faced a raise to 10,000 by Andrei Gabriel Roscan. Norel moved all in for 23,050 and Roscan snap-called.

The turn improved Roscan and the remained in the lead after the blank river to eliminate an almost even-stacked Norel.
On the four-way flop of , a bet of 3,600 was in front of a player in early position and Vasile Valentin Anghel on the button called. The small blind raised to 11,000 and Toni Jarvisalo, who qualified online through 888poker for this event in a Freeroll, moved all in for another 3,150 on top of the raise. That forced out the initial bettor, but Anghel and the small blind both called.
After the turn, the small blind pushed immediately for 15,000 and that forced out Anghel to see the small blind turn over . Jarvisalo had flopped the straight with and dodged the flush draw thanks to a blank river.
In a three-way all in Daniel Balaiasa tripled up for 31,100 against Khodiyara Hasmukh and Silviu Baltateanu. Balaiasa had the best of it going into the showdown with versus and [AdKs[ respectively and the board ran out .
Baltateanu, on his third bullet for the day, doubled short with versus , but may soon have to re-enter anyways.
Eduard Norel also busted once more on Day 1b, he got it in with against the of Marius Asanache and the board came .
Over on the feature table, Sofia Lovgren was all in and at risk for 21,000 with the and D. Stefan had the , while Dragos Negrii was all in with for 59,300 as second biggest stack in the hand.
The board came and Lovgren missed out on her flush draw and chop outs to hit the rail, while Negrii joined the big stacks.
In a battle of the blinds Pasquale Grimaldi had just doubled to 50,000 after his flushed an opponent with . Right after he got his stack in from the small blind with the and Marian Strachinescu called with the and slightly superior stack.
The board came and Strachinescu paired his ace to bust Grimaldi. Silviu Baltateanu, who had been back up to 70,000 after he was left with 3,500 earlier, has also been eliminated.
