The first flight of the 2018 888Live Poker Festival Bucharest €888 Main Event with a guaranteed prize pool of €288,000 attracted a field of 110 entries and thus far, 27 players advanced to Day 2 at the stunning JW Marriott Grand Hotel Bucharest in the heart of the Romanian capital. A bigger field is expected in the second regular starting day that kicks off at 1 p.m. local time and last night's satellite generated another 20 entries.
Day 1b kicks off at 1 p.m. local time in the Grand Ballroom and a total of 11 levels of 45 minutes each are scheduled for today with a break every three levels. After the end of level six, a 60-minute dinner break takes place and the registration and unlimited re-entry period closes with the start of level eight.
All players receive a total of 30,000 in chips and the event features a 30 second shot clock after which the hand is declared dead. Upon taking a seat, all participants receive two additional time bank chips of 60 seconds each.
Local player Nicolae Sorin Son topped the counts with 203,000 but other big names such as Catalin Pop (185,500), Luca Moschitta (185,000), Alexandru Papazian (162,000), and 888poker ambassador Vivian Saliba 146,500 were hot on his heels. Saliba's team mates Natalie Hof and Sofia Lovgren will be representing 888poker at the tables today.

The €50+10 Ladies Event is scheduled to kick off at 3 p.m. local time with levels of 20 minutes, a starting stack of 10,000 and the registration and re-entry period remains open for the first six levels.
The PokerNews live reporting team will be on the floor to cover all the action. Once Day 1b has wrapped up around 11 p.m. local time, the third and final flight will get underway immediately after. The Turbo Day 1c will feature levels of 22 minutes each and a brief summary and the chip counts will be provided before the start of Day 2.

Picking up the action on the flop, Anton Markov bet 200 and was called by Marius Alexandru Gicovanu in the big blind. The fell on the turn and Markov made it 500 to go, Gicovanu called. On the river, Markov checked and eventually folded to a bet of 2,500 by Gicovanu.

Catalin Paul Diac, who won a WSOP Circuit ring at the King's Casino in Rozvadov in 2017, is among the dozens of hopefuls that took their seat right away after the first card was dealt and he just picked up a healthy pot. The board of was all but rushed away when Diac and his table neighbor Alexandru Cristian Cojocaru tabled their cards. The latter had for an ace-high bluff and Diac claimed the pot with for a gutshot that improved to top pair on the river.

Leslie Kearney, Thilo Podann and Gabriel Penescu all ran out of chips despite starting the day with 300 big blinds. Whether or not they will re-enter remains to be seen.
Adrian Petrus almost ended up as fourth player with an all in showdown after he shoved into a bet of 2,500 by Adrian Corneliu Lazar on a flop of . Petrus only had 10,250 left and there were 5,000 in the middle. Lazar, however, ended up folding and Petrus recovered some chips.

Marius Ene limped in and Elena Grigorescu from one seat over raised to 400, which was called by Bogdan Croitoru and Ene. On a flop of the action checked to Grigorescu and her bet of 500 was called by Croitoru only. The latter check-called a bet of 500 on the [7s| turn and checked once more on the river.
Grigorescu bet 1,500 and forced a fold, but decided to show her for two pair anyways.
