Shub Dusts Off Cantea

Level 6 : 400/800, 100 ante

In one of the last hands before the dinner break, Shub Dean bet 7,000 on the {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{9-Spades} turn and Marian Catalin Cantea moved all in for around 23,000, Shub called instantly.

Marian Catalin Cantea: {9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Shub Dean: {A-Clubs}{6-Hearts}

Cantea needed a nine or heart to double, and the {3-Diamonds} river was too little, too late, as he only made inferior two pair. Dean climbed up even further and crossed 200,000 in chips before heading to dinner.

Baltateanu Busts Once More

Level 6 : 400/800, 100 ante

Attila Kuna raised to 2,100 in the cutoff and Silviu Baltateanu moved all in for 12,000 only.

Attila Kuna: {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Silviu Baltateanu {A-Hearts}{6-Spades}

The board came {9-Spades}{J-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and Balteanu busted once more after already firing three bullets on Day 1a already. Next to Kuna sits Ozgur Arda, who wants to avoid another trip to the registration desk and currently has a quite healthy stack.

Triple Up for Jarvisalo

Level 6 : 400/800, 100 ante
Toni Jarvisalo
Toni Jarvisalo

On the four-way flop of {5-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts}, a bet of 3,600 was in front of a player in early position and Vasile Valentin Anghel on the button called. The small blind raised to 11,000 and Toni Jarvisalo, who qualified online through 888poker for this event in a Freeroll, moved all in for another 3,150 on top of the raise. That forced out the initial bettor, but Anghel and the small blind both called.

After the {Q-Clubs} turn, the small blind pushed immediately for 15,000 and that forced out Anghel to see the small blind turn over {K-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. Jarvisalo had flopped the straight with {6-Clubs}{3-Spades} and dodged the flush draw thanks to a blank {J-Hearts} river.

Fadhel Works on a Miracle

Level 6 : 400/800, 100 ante
Ahmed Fadhel
Ahmed Fadhel

One player had limped in and Andrei Racolta raised on the button to 2,000, Ahmed Fadhel shoved for 4,250 in the small blind and the limper as well as Racolta called. On the {A-Spades}{7-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop, both players checked and Racolta's bet of 5,500 on the {10-Spades} turn was check-called. The {9-Hearts} river was checked and Racolta turned over {Q-Spades}{10-Hearts}. That was good enough to win the side pot against {J-Clubs}{9-Clubs}, while Fadhel tripled up with {J-Spades}{8-Clubs}.

Soon after Stefan Aurelian Gheorghe shoved for around 6,000 and Fadhel reshoved on the button to isolate with {K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}. Gheorghe had {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and the board of {J-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{K-Spades}{10-Hearts} gave Fadhel two pair.

Angel Runs Out of Fortune

Level 6 : 400/800, 100 ante

Manfres Sierke had previously doubled with {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades} versus {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} after cracking the top set of Lucian Neagoe on a board of {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}.

Radu Angel tried the same with {J-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} against the pocket queens of Neagoe and was drawing dead on the turn of an ace-high board before Bogdan Nastase sucked out with {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} against Neagoe's {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs} thanks to the {Q-Hearts} on the turn.

Two More Headphones Awarded

Level 5 : 300/600, 75 ante

Marius Pertea, who won the Unibet Open at this very venue last year, has successfully re-entered and doubled his stack. Along the way he made a full house that involved three eights and scooped up new Sony headphones, and Vlad Anton Dinu did so as well. Dinu however has three times as many chips as Pertea and appears to be the current chip leader.
