Sneaky Quads for Kyte

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Jon Kyte
Jon Kyte

There are now two big stacks over on Sofia Lovgren's table. Unfortunately for the 888poker ambassador, neither of them belong to her as she has about 32,000 in chips.

One belongs to Bjorn Wiesler with 138,000 in chips and the other to Jon Kyte with 157,000. Kyte's stack just got a boost with the help of a bunch of ladies.

A player in early position limped before Wiesler in late position limped behind. Kyte jacked it up to 6,500 from the small blind and both players called.

Kyte checked the {4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{q-Clubs} flop before the early limper led out for 11,000. Wiesler folded and Kyte called.

Both players checked after the {q-Spades} appeared on the turn. The {5-Clubs} completed the board on the river. Kyte let his time bank wind down a bit before he bet 18,000. He got a call from his opponent and turned over {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} for quad queens.

Hello and Goodbye to Kelly Limonova

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Estonia's Kelly Limonova lives in Barcelona. She shared during the dinner break that she wanted to play on Day 1a but got busy with friends. The same held true for Day 1b.

So today she made a point of coming but originally thought the starting time was a little earlier than she thought it would be today. She got into the Main Event with about 20 minutes on the same table as 888poker Ambassador Vivian Saliba before dinner break and seemed satisfied she headed to the break with a starting stack.

After the break, things didn't go well for Limonova and her stack bled down to 18,000. She then called off her stack with {7-}{7-} against Jose Maria Martinez Lazaro who held {a-}{k-}.

The flop and turn were blanks for Lazaro. But Limonova's entry into the Main Event was short lived after a {k-} spiked the river.

We may see Limonova pop back into the Main Event with reentry open until the beginning of Day 2.

Capasso Sucks Out With an Overpair

Parker Talbot moved to a new table with a stack of 38,000 in chips. While counting his chips we observed a hand that already had 7,000 in the pot before the flop,

Fernando Arevalo Capasso fired out for 3,500 on a {10-Spades}{8-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop. His opponent raised to 11,000 out of a total remaining stack of around 28,000. Capasso, who had his opponent covered, three-bet jammed his stack.

Capasso held {J-Spades}{J-Clubs} for an overpair and was behind the two pair held by his opponent with {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. The {7-Clubs} on the turn opened up a gutshot straight draw which was completed after the {9-Diamonds} completed the board on the river.

Zhuralev Snags a Pot Without a Flop

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Parker Talbot got back into the action and is having a better start with his second bullet with his stack up to 43,000 in chips. As we were counting his stack we caught a hand with some of his opponents at the table.

A player limped from early position before Claudio Daffina raised to 2,800. Igor Zhuravlev called before Malta Keler made it 10,800 from the big blind.

The opening limper and Daffina folded before Zhuravlev four-bet jammed. Keler asked for a chip count and subsequently shared with Keler after counting Zhuralev's chips that his opponent had 77,000.

Keler let his clock wind down to single digits before he folded and Zhuralev won a healthy pot without any cards being dealt on the board.
