Caminita No More!

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Demetrio Caminita
Demetrio Caminita

Demetrio Caminita had been cruising along for some time with half a million, but suddenly he was standing at the payout desk along with Robert Cazali. On the former table of the Italian, Jai Saha was sitting on a massive stack and he had knocked out both.

Caminita raised to 24,000 with {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and Cazali got his last 17,000 in with {a-Spades}{6-Clubs}. Saha reraised to 100,000 with {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} and called the jam of Caminita for half a million to leave his opponent drawing dead on the turn.

Salvatore Camarda doubled twice through Oriol Gregori to suddenly move tables with more than ten times he had not long ago.

Xavier Riera: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Martin Jacobson: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

The board came {j-Clubs}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and Jacobson spiked the queen on the river to jump to nearly one million.

Two Seat Open on the Feature Table

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Ramlal Basdeo
Ramlal Basdeo

Over on the feature table, Ramlal Basdeo got his last 24,000 ion with the {q-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and Andrea Pinelli called with {2-Clubs}{2-Spades} to remain ahead on a {k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{j-Clubs} board.

Right after, Marius Stancescu raised and Salvatore Ritrovato three-bet to 68,000. Stancescu jammed and the quick call of Ritrovato followed.

Marius Stancescu: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Salvatore Ritrovato: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}

The {q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{10-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} flop saw Ritrovato instantly flop the nuts, and he avoided the split pot.

Bedell on a Million

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Julian Menhardt (left)
Julian Menhardt (left)

Tom-Aksel Bedell raised and called the shove of Julian Menhardt for 145,000 in a heartbeat.

Julian Menhardt: {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Tom-Aksel Bedell: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}

Things got even worse for Menhardt on the {7-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Spades} flop and he already stood up from his chair and was ready to leave. His elimination was official on the {q-Diamonds} turn, and the {6-Clubs} river was a formality.

Fernando Pons
Fernando Pons

In the very next hand, Ankit Mehta got his last 28,000 in and he was called by former WSOP Main Event finalist Fernando Pons.

Ankit Mehta: {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Fernando Pons: {2-Hearts}{2-Spades}

"Deuces never loses" were true in this case, as the board came {a-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{3-Clubs} to let the bubble burst a few minutes before the scheduled dinner break.

Ostergaard's Aces Cracked Near the Bubble

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Erik Ostergaard
Erik Ostergaard

Marcello Miniucchi was eliminated along with one further player from Spain, and that reduced the field to the last 58 hopefuls. Erik Ostergaard then got his stack in preflop for around 120,000 and Tom-Aksel Bedell eventually called.

Ostergaard quickly rolled over his {a-Hearts}{a-Spades} and Bedell said "I just gonna show one card" and flashed the {a-Clubs} followed by the {k-Diamonds}.

The flop came {9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs} and Ostergaard could barely watch it.

"Clubs!" Bedell demanded and his wish indeed came true with the {2-Clubs} turn and {4-Clubs} river. Ostergaard left in disgust, not before taking a picture of the board, and Bedell was all smiles with the words "lucky bastard."

The tournament will now commence with hand-for-hand mode on the money bubble.

Defending Champion Costin Constantin Eliminated

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Adrian Costin Constantin
Adrian Costin Constantin

Over on the feature table, defending champion Adrian Costin Constantin pushed for the last 50,000 on the button and he was called by Xavier Riera in the small blind.

Adrian Costin Constantin: {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Xavier Riera: {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

On a board of {8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}, queen-high remained best and that spelled the end for Costin Constantin before the money.

Camarda Wins Big Three-Way All In

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Salvatore Camarda
Salvatore Camarda

Salvatore Camarda raised from the cutoff and Lluis Jo Balague three-bet from the small blind. Silviu Baltateanu four-bet jammed for more than 140,000 in the big blind and both his opponents got their stack in to create a big three-way all in.

Silviu Baltateanu: {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}
Lluis Jo Balague: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Salvatore Camarda: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}

The {j-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop was a huge sweat for Baltateanu, but he failed to get there on the {4-Diamonds} turn and {6-Diamonds} river run out. Camarda doubled through Jo Balague for 219,000 and Baltateanu was sent to the rail.
