The first three levels are completed and 44 players out of 48 entries have been sent into the first 15-minute break of the day. Carmen Zainescu was eliminated towards the end of the level and will likely re-enter until the end of the registration period.
Vlad Tatu has opted to re-enter, the first player to do so on Day 1a, and that has bumped the field up to 48 entries.
Helder Pinho, who had busted Tatu previously, was involved in yet another pot and took on Leontin Iancu. After a three-bet to 2,500, Iancu was among two callers and the trio checked the flop. On the turn, Pinho bet 3,000 and Iancu raised to 8,000, which Pinho called.
On the river, Pinho checked once more and quickly folded to a jam by Iancu.
As expected, the chips have already been flying on the table of Kfir Ivgi, Artan Dedusha and Carmen Zainescu. Ivgi had the best of it so far and Dedusha just took from Zainescu to get back above the starting stack.
On the three-way flop of , only Zainescu in the blinds check-called a bet of 2,000 and did so again on the turn for 5,000. Zainescu checked the third street in a row on the river and Dedusha's third barrel of 12,200 did the trick to force a fold.
Helder Pinho raised to 500 and was called by Vlad Tatu and the player in the cutoff. The flop came and Pinho check-raised from 2,000 to 6,000 when facing a bet by Tatu, the third player folded and Tatu called. They checked the on the turn and the appeared on the river.
Pinho moved all in and Tatu called for around 7,000 to get shown the by Pinho, mucking his in frustration.
Vlad Tatu has dropped below the starting stack while Vasil Giliazetdinov has climbed back to that amount after taking a pot off current chip leader Ozgur Arda. The latter checked the river and Giliazetdinov bet 7,200 into a pot of 9,000 to won the pot without showdown.
A raising war broke out between Eusebiu Jalba and Danut Chisu with 3,500 in front of Jalba and a reraise to 10,900 by Chisu already placed. Whether or not another player was involved in the hand didn't matter anymore, as it was heads-up between Jalba and Chisu.
What followed was the jam by Jalba and Chisu folded, flashing a queen. Dumitru Pora chimed in that it was a re-entry event and table chatter in Romanian indicated that Chisu had queens and Jalba likely ace-king.
Artan Dedusha and Kfir Ivgi are best friends away from the poker tables and usually travel together on the circuit. They don't often get seated next to each other, but today that is the case after both late registered. They are also known to be very aggressive, which happens to be the case for Carmen Zainescu as well.
Andre Marques Moreira had been the initial raiser and Radu Catoiu came along out of the big blind. It was Catoiu that led the turn for 600 and Marquee Moreira called to see the river. Another bet of 1,000 and a call followed.
Catoiu showed for the flush and the Portuguese mucked with the words "I can't fold."
Another table has opened with Carmen Zainescu awaiting opponents, and she was one of the latest additions to the field along with Danut Chisu, Teodor Cap-Bun, Sergiu Cornea and Sorin Flutur.
According to the screens, there are 41 entries of which 40 remain. In the €230 opening event, the field has been reduced to the last 44 and the money bubble is approaching slowly but certainly.
