Flush for Demostenous

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

The second entry for Demos Demostenous appears to be going much better as he just took a small chunk out of the stack of Cosmin Trandafir. On the river of a completed board of {8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{8-Clubs}, Trandafir bet 1,700 in the big blind and Demostenous raised to 4,100.

Trandafir quickly called, but sighed when he was shown the {k-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a flush.

After the hand was over, Demostenous chatted with fellow countryman Michalis Konstantinou, who has also started well into Day 1b.

Shahar More Than Doubles

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Danut Chisu opened to 500 and was called by Ran Shahar, Marius Asanache then three-bet to 2,500 and picked up calls by Chisu and Shahar. On the {k-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop, action checked to Asanache and his bet of 3,000 was called only by Shahar, who had 2,300 behind.

The {7-Spades} turn brought the jam of Shahar and Asanache called.

Ran Shahar: {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Marius Asanache: {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

Shahar avoided the re-entry as the {7-Hearts} river further improved him to a full house and he sent a prayer up to the poker gods.

No Action for Dobrescu

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

In a four-way pot to the {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{6-Hearts} flop, Marian Dinca and Valentin Dobrescu checked out of the blinds and the other two players involved in the hand checked behind. Neither the {10-Clubs} turn nor the {4-Clubs} river brought any action either and Dinca shrugged, then tabled {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for two pair.

Dobrescu had that beat with {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs} for a flush and claimed the pot on a table that also features Michal Lubas and Solomon Stan.

Panchev Without Showdown

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

Hristian Panchev raised and Yuri Kudrinsky from one seat over in the cutoff three-bet to 1,800, which was called by Marius Gicovanu on the button and Panchev. The {4-Spades}{3-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop was checked and Panchev's bet of 2,200 on the {7-Clubs} turn won the pot uncontested, lifting the Bulgarian just shy of the starting stack.

Kudrinsky is just above that and has recovered from a rough start into Day 2.

Lubas Doubles Through Popescu

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

Narcis Gabriel Nedelcu final-tabled the €230 Opening Event and has also already spun up a profit on Day 1b of the Main Event. On his table, Michal Lubas just clashed with Marius Popescu when the turn showed {k-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{a-Spades} and bets of 5,400 from previous streets were already pulled in.

Popescu then bet 7,000 with about as many chips behind and Lubas jammed for 12,000. Popescu used two time banks and called with the {4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}, while Lubas turned over {k-Spades}{2-Spades} for two pair. The {q-Diamonds} river brought no upset and Lubas doubled to get back near the starting stack.

Bandieri Busts to Chiva

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

Several players have been eliminated including Ion Nita, Hans Fest and Marco Bandieri. Ramlal Basdeo and Kfir Ivgi ran out of chips before the break and have jumped back in, while all other early casualties can do so until the end of level eight.

As far as Bandieri was concerned, it was a rather simple and standard exit. Down to 5,500, he jammed from early position and was called by Eugen Chiva.

Marco Bandieri: {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}
Eugen Chiva: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

The board came {q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{5-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} and Chiva got there on the river.
