Tamaduianu Flops a Flush

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

Andrei Tamaduianu chopped with Boaz Kolenbrener when both flopped top pair with ace-jack suited and ace-ten on an ace-king high board. The river paired the board and the minor kicker advantage was not significant anymore.

Soon after, Tamaduianu was paid off when he made it 3,800 to go with the completed board showed {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{8-Spades}{k-Hearts}. Adrian Petrus called and mucked when he was shown the {k-Clubs}{3-Clubs}.

The field has already grown to around 100 entries and among them are such notables as Andrei Nodea, Christopher Heidelbacher, Stefan Bucur and Vasile Rablou.

Nodea three-bet an open raise by Spanish qualifier Charles Wells to 1,100 and was called. On the {9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop, Wells checked and folded to a bet worth 1,300 by Nodea.

Potcoava Fires Early On

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

With 3,400 in the middle and the turn showing {k-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}, Mihnea Potcoava bet 2,000 and was called by Andrei Pirlanescu from two seats over. The {7-Spades} fell on the river and Potcoava made it another 5,500 to go. Pirlanescu was tempted to call, but folded after some consideration.

Another Level 1 Casualty

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

Similar to Day 1b, one of the hopefuls that entered with 300 big blinds has been eliminated in the first level and that happened to be Constantin Ghica. Early chip leader appears to be Raul Moratilla Alcolado, who faces Nasser Khelifi on his table.

Archer Chips Up

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

Ross Archer bet the three-way flop of {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for 300 and was called only by Cristian Dan on the button. They checked the {j-Spades} turn and Archer bet the {8-Clubs} river for 800. Dan raised to 2,200 and Archer double-checked the board with his sunglasses still on before making the call.

Dan turned over {q-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and Archer had a straight with the {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. Archer apologized for his delayed call and Dan replied back "I thought I had queen-ten and the higher straight."
