The 2019 888poker LIVE Festival London £1,100 Main Event will be crowning a champion today at the Aspers Casino at Westfield Stratford City, and 23 hopefuls out of a field of 518 entries remain in contention for the top prize of £100,000 with the lion's share of the prize pool of £512,820 still up for grabs.
All finalists have £3,990 locked up for their efforts but the eyes are firmly set on the trophy, six-figure score and the package worth $12,500 for the 2020 World Series of Poker Main Event in Las Vegas courtesy of event sponsor 888poker.
Six players will return to their seats to unbag a seven-figure stack and Aleksandrs Golubevs is in the lead with 1,300,000, followed by George Demetriou (1,183,000), Valdir Cordeiro dos Santos (1,162,000), Nikolay Ponomarev (1,137,000), Scott Berko (1,100,000), and Bhavin Khatri (1,038,000).
Daniel Habib (993,000) and Adrian Constantin (958,000) can also become a chip millionaire in the very first hand of the final day. Constantin is one of four remaining 888poker qualifiers in contention as Jose Echevarne Gomez (656,000), Matthew Anderson (326,000) and Teresa Purti (217,000) will aim to parlay their online satellite win on 888poker into victory here in London.
Other notables still in contention for the final day are 2018 888 WPT500 London champion Gary Miller (558,000), Mark Yi (534,000), Ramlal Basdeo (467,000), Ion Albu (429,000), and Leon Louis (330,000).

Gary Miller raised to 35,000 and George Demetriou called. Manuel Bueno then jammed the cutoff for 212,000 and Miller folded, Demetriou asked for a count and folded.
"I had ace queen," Demetriou said and Miller immediately fired a "oh come on mate, stop lying. Can we have a medic here to check on that guy?" Demetriou changed his mind and announced ace-jack, which Miller still didn't believe.

In the second hand of the day, Andrew Connell jammed the button for 159,000 and Matthew Anderson called in the small blind after getting a count.

Ion Albu raised to 35,000 from under the gun and Man Luk in the cutoff called. On the flop Albu continued for 30,000 and was called to see the turn go check, check. After the river, Albu used one time bank and bet 165,000, Luk called.
Albu turned over the for a full house and dragged in a healthy pot.
In the next hand, George Demetriou raised the small blind and called a three-bet to 125,000 by Albu. They checked the flop and Demetriou check-folded the turn to a bet of 80,000.

Chip leader Aleksandrs Golubevs has started well into the final day and pulled a bit further ahead while Ramlal Basdeo and Adrian Constantin lost some chips.
Valdir Cordeiro dos Santos won some chips back as he took on Basdeo in a battle small blind versus cutoff and bet the flop for 22,000, which Basdeo called. The Brazilian then bet the turn for 40,000 and Basdeo folded.

After getting through with a jam once a few minutes ago, Teresa Purti was all in for 229,000 on the button and Bhavin Khatri in the big blind glanced at his cards, then snap-called.

It was a near-worst case scenario for the 888poker qualifier from Spain, who had carefully navigated her short stack through most of Day 2. The flop sparked some hope with aa gutshot but both the turn and river came blank to eliminate Purti in 23rd place for £3,990.

Man Luk jammed for 161,000 from early position and George Demetriou reshoved the cutoff with all but Ion Albu behind him as shorter stacks. Manuel Bueno called all-in out of the small blind and the cards were tabled.

"I am winning? Well, at least for now, how is that possible?" Luk gasped as he was ahead against two opponents.
The board came and Bueno spiked the two-outer on the river to eliminate Luk in 22nd place for £3,990. He also doubled through Demetriou for 462,000 to skyrocket above one million in chips.
