Haycock Slips Up on the River
Level 9
: Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Paul Haycock raised to 2,000 in the cutoff and was called by "JV" on the button and Ian Simpson in the big blind. The flop came 10♥5♠4♠ and the action checked to "JV" who bet 2,000. Simpson folded but Haycock called to see the 9♣ on the turn.
Haycock checked again and "JV" flicked in a bet of 5,000. Haycock still called and the 7♠ completed the board. Haycock led out by making a bet of 30,000 and "JV" sighed before calling off his last 10,200 chips. Haycock showed 3♥2♥ for a missed straight draw while "JV" held 10♦9♦ for two pair.
