Samson Doubles Through Conan

Daniel Samson raised it up from early position and Arthur Conan three-bet to 5,000 on his left. Chris Dasilva flat-called on the button but Samson pushed all in for 28,000. Conan just called and Dasilva stepped aside.

Samson found himself in a great position to double up with the bigger of the two pocket pairs. The board ran out J♦8♥4♠10♥A♠ and Samson held on for the win.

"That's one way to late register a tournament," Samson said as he collected the pot.

Ricardo Mateus opened to 1,600 in middle position and was called by Waheed Ashraf in the cutoff. The flop fell 10♥5♣2♥ and both players checked through to the 2♠ on the turn and the A♥ on the river.

Mateus finally made a bet of 3,000 and Ashraf looked him up. Mateus flipped over A♦J♠ and his kicker was enough to send Ashraf's cards to the muck.

Picking up the action on the flop, Alex Peffly in the small blind was heads-up with the cutoff on a flop of J♠9♦2♦. The two players got all of their chips in the middle with the cutoff at risk for less than 10,000.

Alex Peffly: J♥9♠

Peffly flopped two pair to hold the lead and improved to a full house on the J♦ turn card. The 7♣ on the river changed nothing and Peffly sent his opponent to the rail.

Michael Moore raised to 1,400 in early position and Alexander Booth called on the button. Chris Dasilva reraised to 6,000 from the big blind which got Moore to fold but Booth called.

The flop fell A♥A♣4♣ and Dasilva continued with a bet of 2,500. Booth called and the K♦ peeled off on the turn. Dasilva checked this time and Booth tossed in a bet of 10,000. Dasilva checked again and Booth gave up, showing 2♥2♣. Dasilva tabled his A♦Q♣ and raked in the pot.

"Good reraise," Moore added after the hand. "I folded pocket fours."

Gaines Finds a Fold from Chen

Glen Gaines opened to 1,100 from under the gun and Lin Chen flat-called from a couple of seats over. The flop came A♥J♠10♠ and Gaines continued with a bet of 1,100 which Chen called.

The turn was the 2♦ and Gaines put together a bet of 4,500. Chen gave it some thought but decided to lay his hand down, flashing his A♣Q♣ before they went to the muck.

Andy Wilson made it 1,100 to go from the cutoff and Adrian Balica called on the button as the two players went heads-up once again. The flop fell K♣9♥5♠ and Wilson started with a check. Balica bet 1,500 and Wilson check-raised to 6,000 which Balica called.

The 9♠ paired the board on the turn and Wilson checked for the second time. Balica tossed in a bet of 6,500 and Wilson check-raised again to 19,000. Balica spent a few minutes in the tank before calling and the J♦ rolled off on the river.

Wilson moved all in as the bigger of the two stacks and Balica thought over for a moment before dumping his cards into the muck.
