An exciting 888poker LIVE Bucharest festival will come to an exciting end today, as the final 17 players battle for the trophy in the €560 Main Event. The successful series at 888poker Room Bucharest is ready to come to a close, but not before handing out a shiny piece of hardware at the top prize of €37,000.
When action resumes at 3 p.m. local time, Konstantinos Vatseris will be looking to better his performance in the Main Event last summer in Bucharest. Vatseris made the final table and finished in seventh in the 2023 edition, and leads the way this time with 2,700,000 chips.
That lead is not very big, as Romanians Alexandru Varninschi and Florin Elisei join Vatseris above the 60 big blind mark.

Among the names still in contention is Alexandru Lupuleac, who built up a strong stack after bursting the money bubble on Saturday. Day 1c chip leader Dan Galinschi is also returning to action, but he’ll need to make up ground after bagging 10 big blinds to finish up Day 2.
The remaining combatants have all secured at least €2,275, with just 17 people still alive to take home the €37,000 up top and the 888poker LIVE trophy.

Konstantinos Vatseris opened to 90,000 in early position and Denis Iaschevici defended his big blind to see the 10♥3♥A♣ flop.
Iaschevici checked to Vatseris, who continued for 80,000. The call was made and the dealer revealed the J♦ turn. Iaschevici led out for 50,000 and Vatseris made the call.
The J♠ river saw both players check, with Iaschevici mucking his hand without showing down. That awarded the pot to Vatseris, who was happy to show his hand to the table, turning over K♠K♥.
