Day 1de Started
The 888poker LIVE Coventry series continues with the busiest day of the £888 Main Event, as two more starting flights are set to begin on Friday, October 19.
Three opening flights have been completed, with a total of 177 entries over the first two days at Coventry Building Society Arena. That leaves three flights remaining as players look to join the 25 current survivors for a shot at a piece of the £500,000 guaranteed prize pool.
Action gets underway with Day 1d at 12:00 p.m. local time, featuring unlimited reentries through the entire day. The second turbo flight will follow, as Day 1e is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. to cap off a full schedule of events on Friday.
The overall chip leader thus far is Brandon Harris, who collected a massive stack of 599,000 chips on Day 1a. His closest competitor is Jiang Pu, holding 413,000 chips in his bag at the end of Day 1b.
Thursday’s late flight saw just two players add their names to the Day 2 list, as Mindaugas Kurlenskas led the way with 351,000 chips. He’s joined by 888poker Ambassador Ian Simpson, needing a couple more entries to find a bag with 69,000.

Callum Gordon opened to 300 in early position and was called by the button. Denis Prickett came along in the small blind, with Asif Warris defending his big blind.
Action checked around to the button on the 2♠3♣Q♦ flop, who fired 600. Prickett folded and Warris called. Gordon then check-raised to 2,000.
That produced a pair of folds, as Gordon raked in the chips.
