Defending Champion Off to Dream Start
Level 2
: Blinds 100/300, 300 ante
Mazalahedwa Bako raised to 600 on the button and called when Jamie Morris put in a small three-bet to 1,500 from the big blind.
Morris continued for 2,000 on the 4♥9♠3♣ flop, which Bako called. After Morris checked the 4♣ turn, Bako then took the initiative with a bet of 6,000. Morris called, but led out for 8,000 on the 5♥ river.
Bako was having none of it and promptly shoved his stack of 39,000 in the middle. Morris spent some time in the tank before he called with the covering stack.
Bako stood up as he tabled Q♠10♣ for queen-high. Morris had K♠K♣ for an overpair, and he raked in the huge pot to end up with over double the starting stack.
