Kovacs Meets End in Five-Way Pot
Level 8
: Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Csaba Kovacs raised to 3,200 in late position, getting no fewer than four callers along to the 8♥9♦K♣ flop. Sinead Davenport and Trung Tran checked from the blinds to Kovacs, who continued with a bet of 4,500.
Shaun Williams called in the cutoff, as did Jack Rhodes on the button. Davenport was the only one who mucked, as Tran also came along to the 7♥ river.
Tran led out for 16,000, and Kovacs committed his stack of 24,700 to the middle. Williams and Rhodes had seen enough and folded, forcing a showdown.
Csaba Kovacs: 8♦7♦
Trung Tran: 10♠6♦
Tran had turned a straight, and Kovacs' two pair did not become a full house on the 5♥ river, resulting in his exit.
