On the final day of the 888poker XL Eclipse Series, there were 17 tournaments on the schedule to wrap up the 197-event series.

Most of the attention went to the $1,500,000 Main Event, which had a buy-in of $1,050. This was the highlight on Day 15 but there was more with some big winners in other events. Let's see who took down the Main Event and the other events on this final day of the series.

XL Eclipse #189 - $1,500,000 Main Event

The tournament started at 6 p.m. GMT, but with five hours of late registration, players had the option to start a bit later. At the end of registration, there were 1,149 players and 413 rebuys to create a total prize pool of $1,562,000. For the winner, it would be a massive payday of $273,038.

Jon "chut_up" Van Fleet, Chris "888Moorman" Moorman, Ruben "rubenrtv" Visser, Steven "Kale333" Van Zadelhoff, Christopher "NigDawG" Brammer, Natalie "888NatalieH" Hof and Artem "veeea" Vezhenkov busted pretty quickly and well before the money.

Dominik "888Dominik" Nitsche, Sofia "sofialovgren" Lovgren, Anton "anteen" Bertilsson, Adrian "ADRI_ATM" Mateos, Thomas "WushuTM" Muehloecker and Parker "888tonkaaaa" Talbot also played but didn't manage to reach the stage of the tournament where money was awarded.

The bubble burst when "Mad_Martigan" lost all his chips and ended in 145th place. After that, familiar faces like Scott "AggroSantos" Margereson, Sergio "zcedrick" Aido and Kenny "SpaceyFCB" Hallaert busted. The final table was reached after Niklas "tutten7" Astedt finished in 11th place and was followed by "prebzzz" in 10th place.

On the final table, "Litt_it_up" (ninth - $17,963) and "unbezieglar" (eight, $31,240) were eliminated in quick succession before "KTBFFH89" ended in seventh place for $46,860. After that, the tournament saw "Sjapster" (sixth - $62,480) and "KURDEdersim" (fifth - $78,100) leave before play slowed down with four players left.

After a long period with four players, the tournament went down to three players. "poirierfrncs" busted in fourth place for $110,902 after losing his chips with against the pocket kings of "CllsDntMttr". Just a few minutes later, "CllsDntMttr" also busted "purplegerbil" in third place for $148,390.

The German started the heads-up with a 3-1 chip lead against "thrust.". It didn't take long to decide the tournament after winning with against for all the chips. "CllsDntMttr" secured himself of the XL Eclipse Main Event title and the first prize of $273,038!

“CllsDntMttr” also won Event #10: $250,000 Whale for $64,826.50 on Day 1 of the XL Eclipse, so he captured major titles on the first and the last day to bookend the series. It's been a good few months as he also took down the $80,000 Mega Deep for over $15,000 on July 9.

XL Eclipse #181 - $30,000 Sunday Lightning 6-Max

The XL Eclipse #181 - $30,000 Sunday Lightning 6-Max had a total of 235 players. Czech Republic's "GramNaKartke" snagged the title and $7,814.

XL Eclipse #182 - $45,000 Sunday Breeze

German player "Heroraise" defeated a field of 900 players in the $45,000 Sunday Breeze to secure the first prize of $8,100. The runner-up "msksevart" settled for $5,850.

XL Eclipse #183 - $30,000 Sunday Deepstack Swordfish

XL Eclipse #184 - $150,000 Mega Deep

Aside from the big scores in the Main Event, one of the biggest winners of the day was crowned in the XL Eclipse #184 - $150,000 Mega Deep. In this tournament, 794 players competed for the total prize pool of $206,200 with the first prize of $38,559.

The final table had many recognizable players including Kyle “chedrstack” Chang and Michael “OneH1tWonder” Cano, who busted in seventh and fifth place, respectively. Roman “Romeopro33” Romanovskyi, who was going for his third title XL Eclipse title, fell in third place.

After more than 14 hours of play, Germany's "neverfoldQ5" received the first prize after defeating Aaron "YoureMagical" Gustavson in the final heads-up.

XL Eclipse #185 - $60,000 Sunday Crocodile

The XL Eclipse #185 - $60,000 Sunday Crocodile was won by Brazil's "EduardoGarla" He defeated Denmark's "VanVogt" in the heads-up to snag the title and $12,452.

XL Eclipse #186 - $40,000 Mini Mega Deep

XL Eclipse #187 - $20,000 Sunday Swordfish

XL Eclipse #188 - $45,000 Sunday Monsoon

For "PAPA_VINCENT", there was the first prize of $9,430 after winning the XL Eclipse #188 - $45,000 Sunday Monsoon.

XL Eclipse #190 - $200,000 Mini Main Event

For the players who couldn't afford the regular Main Event with a buy-in of $1,050, there was the XL Eclipse #190 - $200,000 Mini Main Event. This event had a buy-in of $215 and there were 1,286 players competing for a prize pool of $369,000.

The lion's share of this money went to "aghghghghghg" from the United Kingdom. After 11 hours of play, he defeated "hell0_br0tti" and secured $62,730. The runner-up received $46,125.

XL Eclipse #191 - $50,000 Micro Main Event

The $30 buy-in Micro Main Event drew 1,875 entries, which included 723 re-buys, and "RakDoll" of Belarus came out on top for $11,288. With that win, he became the 12th player in the series to win two or more titles in the series as he also won Event #15: $30,000 Turbo Opening Event (427 entries, $30,000 prize pool) for $5,757.

XL Eclipse #192 - $80,000 Sunday Challenge

After taking down Event #17: $15,000 Lightning 6-Max for $5,564 early in the series, Chile's Nicolas “PKaiser” Fierro followed that up by beating out a field of 649 entries to win Event #192: $80,000 Sunday Challenge for $16,119.40. With the win, Fierro became the 13th player in the series to win multiple XL Eclipse titles.

XL Eclipse #193 - $25,000 Sunday Tornado

XL Eclipse #194 - $45,000 Turbo Mega Deep

Another five-figure winner was crowned in the XL Eclipse #194 - $45,000 Turbo Mega Deep. In this event, United Kingdom's "grandma1954" was the strongest and got the first prize of $10,005.

XL Eclipse #195 - $20,000 Mini Turbo Mega Deep

XL Eclipse #196 - $20,000 Turbo Main Event

The Turbo edition of the Main Event had a buy-in of $109 and this attracted a total of 147 players. They didn't make the guaranteed prize pool, so there was $20,000 extra to play for. Most of this money went to Latvia's "AboldMove" who received the first prize of $4,300.

XL Eclipse #197 - $10,000 Super Turbo Main Event

Champion of Champions Event

With 13 repeat winners in the series, one of whom took down three titles, 183 players have seats locked up in the series-ending Champion of Champions Event, which will take place on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. GMT. Up for grabs for the winner is a $13,000 package to the 2017 World Series of Poker Europe at King’s Casino Rozvadov.
