There have already been more than 8,000 entries in various Day 1 flights for the 888poker ChampionChip Main Event. The $50 buy-in has a massive $500,000 in guaranteed prizes, and so far, 1,273 players have qualified for Day 2. There is still one Day 1 running, but registration is closed, so it looks like 8,130 entries will be the final total, however, there will likely be a few more than 1,273 sitting down for Day 2.

Day 2 of the game gets underway today at 2 p.m. eastern time, and they'll play 15-minute levels through the end of play. The action starts out in Level 13 with blinds at 1,000/2,000/250 and players' time banks will be refreshed every four levels through the day.

The current chip leader going into today is "king.abulIV" from the United Kingdom with more than 400,000 chips. They are the only one over 400,000, but three other players are bringing more than 300,000 to the tables for Day 2.
