Anthony Dianaty

Day 1d of the 2019 Ante Up Poker Tour Tampa Bay Downs $250 Main Event attracted 109 runners (the biggest of the first four flights), and along with the 262 entrants from the first three flights brings the total field up to 371 entries. The fifth and final flight is currently playing out now.

After 14 levels of play in the 1d flight just 21 remained with Anthony Dianaty and his stack of 344,500. That is well ahead of 1b chip leader Hyndi Khomutetsky (284,000), Donald “Doc” Brown (288,000), and 1a chip leader Peter Chang (296,500).

Others to bag big in the 1d flight were Donnie Kidman (252,500), Reggie Bautista (243,500), Larry Nerron (195,000), and Leif Oskarsson (184,000), who round out the top five.

Others to bag were Jon Godwin (182,500), Brad Kane (128,500), Jordan Wunder (92,000), Nikki Dugan (74,500), Joao Figueiredo (60,000), Edie Jo Norman (51,500), and the short-stacked Tom Faust (48,500).

Among those to play and fall on 1d were Victour Goitia, Jordan Coltharp, David Boutin, Joe Parrish, Matt Quirk, Mark Winchell, Frank Muir, and Francis Toscano.

PokerNews continues its coverage straight from the tournament floor of the Silks Poker Room at Tampa Bay Downs with 1e coverage here. The surviving players from each flight will then return at 1 p.m. on Sunday to play down to a winner.

Edie Jo Isn't Done Yet

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante
Edie Jo Norman
Edie Jo Norman

The player in the hijack raised to 7,000 and Pat Buckley called from the cutoff. Edie Jo Norman then three-bet all in for 27,600 from the button, both blinds folded, and the hijack called. Buckley got out of the way and the hands were turned up.

Norman: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Hijack: {q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

Norman got it in good but fell behind on the {10-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flop. Fortunately for her, the dealer burned and turned the {A-Diamonds} to give her back the lead.

The {2-Spades} river was of no consequence and Norman shipped a double in the penultimate level of the night.

Diamonds are Buckley's Best Friend

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Pat Buckley
Pat Buckley

Six players limped preflop and five of them checked the {4-Hearts}{4-Spades}{6-Diamonds} flop, including Pat Buckley in the big blind.

The last player to act then bet 2,500 from the hijack, the small blind folded, and Buckley check-raised to 7,000. Three more folds saw the hijack call and the dealer burned and turned the {3-Diamonds}.

Buckley led out for 9,000 and called when the hijack min-raised him to 18,000. When the {Q-Diamonds} completed the board on the river, Buckley moved all in for 30,000 and the hijack called.

Buckley tabled the {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for trip fours that turned into a flush, and it was good as his opponent mucked his cards.

Kidman Rivers Quads for Six-Figure Pot

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante
Donnie Kidman
Donnie Kidman

With around 50,000 already in the middle and a board reading {4-Clubs}{2-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{2-Hearts}, the player in the big blind moved all in for right around 24,000 and Donnie Kidman, who barely had him covered, snap-called.

Big Blind: {a-Clubs}{3-Spades}
Kidman: {2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}

The big blind had flopped a wheel but Kidman, who had flopped bottom set, made quads on the river to swipe the six-figure pot.

Coltharp Makes Big Call to Double Through Robinson

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante
Justin Coltharp
Justin Coltharp

Justin Coltharp raised to 1,500 from the cutoff and Jordan Robinson called out of the small blind to see a {2-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop.

Robinson checked and Coltharp continued for 3,100. Robinson then woke up with a check-raise to 8,100 and Coltharp made the call to see the {5-Clubs} turn.

Robinson moved all in for 13,400 and Coltharp thought for a bit before calling off for 11,500.

"I just have a big draw," Robinson said before the cards were turned up.

Robinson: {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Coltharp: {5-Spades}{a-Diamonds}

Indeed, Robinson held a double belly buster straight draw, a flush draw, and two overs. Unfortunately for him, he missed as the {Q-Diamonds} bricked the turn to give Coltharp the double.

Toscano Beat Down By Kane

Level 4 : 200/300, 300 ante
Francis Toscano
Francis Toscano

Rob Beneford raised to 1,000 from middle position and Francis Toscano three-bet all in for 4,200 from the hijack. Brad Kane called out of the big blind, Beneford put in the additional 3,200, and the flop came out {6-Spades}{7-Clubs}{10-Clubs}.

Both active players checked and did the same on the {8-Clubs} turn and {9-Spades} river. There was a straight on the board but it wouldn't be a chop.

Kane: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Toscano: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Beneford: {a-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}

Kane had a jack-high straight and that was enough to send Toscano to the rail.

The first Ante Up Poker Tour stop of 2019, which is taking place inside the 23-table Silks Poker Room inside Tamp Bay Downs, will hold the final two of five stating flights today beginning with the 1d flight at 1 p.m. local time.

While the festival has been taking place since the beginning of the week with multiple side events each day, the $250 Main Event was the event everyone was looking forward to.

In last night's 1A flight, 89 entrants took to the felt but 14 levels of play just 18 remained with Peter Chang and his stack of 296,500 leading the pack. Click here for a full recap of the 1A action.

On Friday, Days 1b and 1c attracted 86 and 87 runners respectively, which along with 1a’s 89 entrants brought the total field up to 262 entries with two flights still to go. After 14 levels of play in the 1b flight, just 14 remained with Hyndi Khomutetsky and her stack of 284,000 leading the way. On 1c, 15 players bagged with Donald “Doc” Brown and his stack of 288,000 on top.

Not only will the eventual winner reap in the rewards of a $60,000 guaranteed prize pool, but they will also be featured on the cover of Ante Up Magazine in March and earn a spot in the Ante Up World Championship Main Event in July.

Today, players will begin with 25,000 starting chips with the blinds at 100/100. A big blind ante will be introduced in the second level and will continue throughout. The levels will be 30-minutes in length for all Day 1s and increase to 40 minutes on the final day. There will be a 10-minute break after every four levels with play ending after a total of 14 levels.

Late registration will remain open until the start of level nine. Players will be given the option of unlimited re-entries until that point. Should a player bag chips on multiple starting flights, only their best stack will be brought forward to the final day.
