Welcome to PokerNews coverage of Day 1b of the $1,650 Ante Up World Championship. Today’s field will play through the second of two Day 1 flights, with the combined surviving players from Day 1a and Day 1b returning Sunday for the Day 2. Sunday’s field will play down to a winner in this $500,000 guaranteed event, and the final names to be added to that field will be decided today.
Day 1a saw 153 entries and 20 players make it through to Day 2, and those numbers are expected to be even bigger for Day 1b.
More than 40 seats were awarded in a Friday night satellite tournament, and the Thunder Valley Poker Room will almost certainly be buzzing with action throughout the day as the Ante Up World Champion is determined.
Players will play through 40-minute levels, with a 10-minute break after every three levels and a 70-minute dinner break after Level 9. Just like Day 1a, today’s flight will play all the way down to the money, with one in every eight players qualifying for the money. Late registration ends at the end of the dinner break, so at that time the number of players to play down to will be decided.
Players get 40,000 starting chips and one re-entry, will Level starting at blinds of 100/100. A big blind ante will go into effect at the beginning of Level 2.
