Welcome back to The Star Poker Room for continued coverage of the ANZPT Sydney Main Event. Today is Day 2 and of the 461 players who created a $922,000 prize pool, there will only be 208 returning for their chance at the $226,812 first place prize.
The man to catch today will be Day 1a chip leader Tobin Ryall. A great Thursday evening saw Ryall accumulate 138,500 in chips.
Plenty of familiar faces from around the country and the world will be hitting the tables today including Team PokerStars Pro Angel Guillen, Dan "djk123" Kelly and prominent poker pro Maria Ho.
Don't rule out the Australian players though as they will be keen to keep the title on home soil. Representing the Aussie flag will be Australian Poker Hall of Fame members Leo Boxell (45,700), Gary Benson (36,375), Billy Argyros (22,600) and Mel Judah (19,925).
It's going to be a long day here in Sydney, with play expected to continue until just two tables remain. We expect that to take at least 10 levels and a dinner break, but don't hold us to that. Just sit tight and enjoy the coverage as the PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be here on this penultimate day of action at the 2012 ANZPT Sydney Main Event.
Here's a look at the big chip stacks going into Day 2.

Level: 9
Blinds: 500/1,000
Ante: 100
The call had been made for the cards to be dealt. The blinds are starting at 500-1000 with a 100-chip ante. Looking through the long list of Day 2 players and we have noticed there are dozens of short stacks, so we expect to see plenty of bodies on the rail early.
The Star Poker Room's Manager just announced to the room that today will see them play 6 levels, have a dinner break and then play a further 4 levels. That means Day 2 will finish somewhere around midnight.
Joel Dodds may now be referred to as the Tony Dunst of Australian poker as he showed up today in a fancy suit. Maybe he has somewhere else to be though, as we just noticed him heading to the rail after wishing his table good luck.
During last year's APPT Queenstown, Lynn Gilmartin got to know Dodds a little better. Who is his idol? Is he romantic? Apparently so. Perhaps that's why he's all dressed up on this fine Saturday afternoon.

Team PokerStars Pro Angel Guillen has shown some early aggression. We walked by his table and noticed he had opened from middle position and then four-bet for a large portion of his stack when the big-blind player threw in a three-bet. Let's see if the player from Mexico can run his stack up.
