Back to Kane

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Michael Kane has once again taken the lead.

This time he had the button and opened it up to 80,000. Stephen McHugh called and the dealer rolled out a {3-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{7-Clubs} flop.

McHugh led for 105,000 and Kane raised it up to 245,000. McHugh made a quick call.

On the {6-Clubs} turn, McHugh moved all in with Kane having 645,000 behind.

Kane nodded his head, called, and tabled {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} for top set.

McHugh, meanwhile, turned over {q-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for just a pair of fours.

McHugh was drawing to a chop, but instead found meaningless trip fours on the {4-Clubs} river.

Kane Continues Crushing

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Stephen McHugh's stack has fallen to only a little more than 10 big blinds after another big Michael Kane pot.

The latest started when Kane opened the button to 80,000. McHugh called and the {7-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{10-Clubs} flop was dealt on the felt.

Both players checked here, just as they did on the {a-Spades} turn.

The river was a {4-Spades} and this time McHugh led for 75,000. Kane raised it up to 250,000 and McHugh called.

At showdown, Kane tabled {a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} for two pair, while McHugh flashed a {j-} before sending his cards into the muck.

McHugh Finds Double

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

The short-stacked at risk player has once again doubled during heads-up play.

It was Stephen McHugh who was all in with his tournament life on the line against Michael Kane.

McHugh had {a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} against Kane's {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}.

The {2-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{4-Spades} board gave McHugh a bit of a sweat, but ultimately he scooped the double to move back to seven figures.

Great Kane Call

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

The heads-up battle has been a little quiet of late. Here is one of the few hands that went to showdown.

Stephen McHugh had the button and raised it up to 85,000. Michael Kane made the call and the two players took to a {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop. Kane check-called a bet of 75,000 here. Both players checked the {6-Clubs} turn and a {5-Hearts} completed the board on the river. This time Kan check-called a bet of 150,000.

Kane showed {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades} for ace-high which proved to be a great call with McHugh having just {k-Spades}{2-Diamonds}.
