Rahme Back to the Pack

Raymond Rahme
Raymond Rahme
Raymond Rahme flirted with 50,000 chips for a while but recently doubled up short-stacked Adrian Pound to fall back to 35,000. Pound opened preflop for 1,500 before Rahme reraised out of the blinds to 3,200. Pound called.

On a flop of {2-Clubs} {K-Spades} {5-Clubs}, Rahme led out for 5,700. Pound deliberated about 30 seconds before moving all in for 13,500. That caused Rahme to deliberate before deciding to call with {10-Clubs} {10-Spades}. He was behind Pound's {A-Clubs} {K-Hearts} and never caught up on the {2-Diamonds} turn or {K-Diamonds} river.

Jordanou Down But Not Out

Bill Jordanou
Bill Jordanou
Bill Jordanou had already grabbed his jacket and was preparing to exit the tournament floor as his all-in bet was called by his opponent.

The board read {7-Spades}{3-Spades}{7-Hearts} and Jordanou committed his last few chips with {K-Spades}{10-Spades} for a flush draw, as his opponent held the lead with {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} for ace high.

However the {K-Clubs} on the turn gave Jordanou the lead and he maintained it when the {Q-Diamonds} fell on the river. Jordanou is hanging in there as he now recovers to 10,000 chips.

Vos Takes the Worst in Blind Battle

It's been tough for some of the more recognizable players to hold onto chips today. Mark Vos has been up and down and he took a recent small hit when he doubled up a short stack. Vos raised the big blind preflop to 1,300 and was called by the small blind, who had limped in. Both players checked after the flop came down {5-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} {10-Diamonds}. On the turn {7-Hearts}, the small blind bet 3,000. Vos raised enough to put him all in and he snap-called with {5-Clubs} {4-Clubs} for trip fives. Vos had {K-Spades} {10-Spades} and couldn't find a ten on the {2-Clubs} river. He falls back to 43,200 in chips.

Khouiss Cracks Aces...Twice

Chris Levick was surely happy to have been dealt {A-Diamonds} {A-Clubs}. He was probably somewhat disappointed to discover that Michael Mayer had been dealt the other two aces, {A-Hearts} {A-Spades}. Both were probably even more disappointed to see that Suzy Khouiss had been dealt {6-Clubs} {6-Spades} and had out-flopped them both, {J-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} {6-Hearts}. When the {J-Spades} hit the turn, Levick and Mayer were drawing dead and Khouiss was primed to drag a pot worth 52,000 chips. However, since Khouiss was the short stack in the hand, Levick and Mayer remain in the tournament.

Moe Toaube Eliminated

Moe Toaube
Moe Toaube
Moe Toaube, the player who knocked Martin Comer out of the tournament on the first hand, did not make it to the dinner break. He took a brutal loss in a hand against Jason Gray. Gray had been dealt {7-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} to Toaube's {A-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds}. When the flop came down {Q-Hearts} {A-Hearts} {7-Clubs}, it didn't take long for all of the chips to get in the middle. Toaube was shown the rail when the turn and river fell {3-Diamonds} and {2-Diamonds}.

Gray is up to approximately 65,000 in chips.

The Big Names of Poker Collide

Marlon Goonawardana
Marlon Goonawardana
In a battle of the big names of poker, Assadour Assadourian raised to 1,000 from middle position, and received one caller before Marlon Goonawardana reraised to 5,000. Assadourian was the lone caller.

The flop came down {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} and Assadourian checked to Goonawardana, who moved all in at the pot. Assadourian released as Goonawardana is now up to 38,500.

Overheard at the Tables

Graeme Putt recently joined Mark Vos' table. Vos noticed Putt's 55,000-chip stack and asked Putt how he got that many chips.

"I've been playing like you," said Putt.

"Well I've been playing like you," replied Vos, pointing out his own stack of 41,000 and referring to the fact that he has been involved in two aces-versus-kings hands today.

Rahme Feels the Hurt

Raymond Rahme has been bleeding chips recently, as his once-impressive stack has been reduced below five figures for the first time today.

In a recent pot, the flop was spread {8-Spades}{6-Hearts}{10-Hearts} when Rahme called the all-in shove from his opponent. Rahme held {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} for just overcards and would need to improve as his opponent tabled {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. The turn was the {K-Diamonds} and river the {6-Clubs} to leave Rahme with only 8,000 in change.

Delaney Done

Ben Delaney was recently eliminated after running his short stack into the pocket aces of his opponent. Delaney held {A-?}{Q-?} and couldn't find a miracle and was left heading to the exit.
