Geshkenbein Widens His Lead

Vladimir Geshkenbein just took down a monster pot from Neil Arce, further increasing his chip lead over the field.

Arce opened the pot with a raise to 100,000 and Geshkenbein made the call from the small blind.

Both players checked the {5-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} flop and saw the {4-Diamonds} fall on the turn. Geshkenbein then fired a bet of 163,000 which was quickly called by Arce.

The river delivered the {3-Hearts} and Geshkenbein took a long sip from his beer before counting out a bet of 350,000 and sliding it into the middle. Arce made the call and Geshkenbein proudly tabled a pocket pair of fives for a set. Arce mucked and was left with 1.5 million in chips.

Geshkenbein improved to 2.97 million in chips with the win.

On The Rail

Making a final table is always a special occasion for any poker player.

Not only do they have the opportunity of being the last one standing while walking away with a potentially life-changing first prize, but they also can do it all in front of their friends and family.

Currently on the rail we find Kent Del Rosario supporting fellow Filipino Neil Arce after busting from this tournament earlier today.

While on the rail for both Grant Levy and Danny Huynh, we find Team PokerStars Pros Lee Nelson, Emad Tahtouh and Joe Hachem along with Johnny Huynh, Joel 'StrongPlay' Dodds, David Ewing and Van Marcus.

With the bright lights of the final table arena being a spectacle that stands out on the Grand Lisboa gaming floor - it will be no surprise to see the crowd increase as the night goes on.

For the first time on this final table the big blind has received a walk!

Everyone folded round to Vladimir Geshkenbein, and once the small blind and antes were being pushed to Geshkenbein he turned over his {6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}.

Huynh Doubles Through Levy

Grant Levy entered the pot with a raise to 56,000 from under the gun.

With the action on fellow Australian Danny Huynh, he pushed all in for 319,000, and after some deliberation and inaudible banter, Levy made the call.

Huynh: {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}
Levy: {A-Spades}{5-Hearts}

With Huynh at risk for his tournament life, the final board of {10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{10-Spades} would see him double through to 660,000 in chips as Levy slips to under 600,000 in chips.

New Table, New Life for Johnny Chan

Johnny Chan has doubled up on the first hand since being moved to the feature table.

Facing an 80,000 preflop raise from Chan under-the-gun, action folded to Vladimir Geshkenbein who raised enough to put Chan all in (210,000). Both blinds folded and Chan made the call, tabling {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades} to find himself slightly behind Geshkenbein's {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}.

The {3-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{3-Spades} board that ensued fell in favor of Chan who doubled through to 471,000 in chips.

Break and Table Change

The tournament clock has been paused while the players go on a 15-minute break. While they're gone, their chips will be moved to the feature TV table where we're play down to a winner, as the Main Event just concluded.

We'll be back momentarily!

Chan Takes a Hit Before the Break

Johnny Chan opened with a raise to 50,000 from the button and when the action reached Vladimir Geshkenbein in the big blind, he kicked it up to 140,000. Chan made the call and the two went heads-up to the {10-Spades}{9-Spades}{6-Spades} flop.

Two checks sent the action to the turn, {7-Hearts}, where Geshkenbein checked, Chan fired 105,000 and Geshkenbein immediately announced, "All in."

Chan counted down his stack and pondered a call, but ultimately tossed his cards into the muck pile.

After the hand, Chan dropped to 215,000 in chips while Geshkenbein improved to 2.1 million.

Levy Paid Off On River

Danny Huynh

On a board reading {6-Spades}{8-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades}{7-Diamonds} Grant Levy lead out with just under a pot-sized bet of 70,000.

His lone opponent in the hand, Danny Huynh, asked the dealer to spread the pot so that he could weigh up his options.

"Do we chop?" asked Huynh.

"Call and find out" replied Levy.

"Allright, I don't want to play like Hachem" finished Huynh as he made the call.

Levy rolled over his {j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for a straight bigger then the board to rake in the pot and take him back to over 800,000 in chips.
