Botabayev Dents Moneymaker

Treys good for Botabayev
Treys good for Botabayev
Darkhan Botabayev entered the pot with a raise to 1,550 only to have Chris Moneymaker bump it to 4,000.

Botabayev made the call before checking the {7-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop to see Moneymaker continue with a 4,500-chip bet. Botabayev made the call before checking the {K-Spades} on the turn.

Moneymaker mulled over a decision for a little before tossing in a bet of 11,000 with Botabayev check-calling.

The river landed the {2-Spades} and Botabayev took a different approach - this time opting to lead for 7,000.

Moneymaker was having none of it however as he cut down a raise and slid in a stack of chips amounting to a bet of 24,000.

"I know I'm losing, but I have to call" stated Botabayev as he made the call.

"You got me . . . Ace-high" sighed Moneymaker as Botabayev tabled his {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts} for a flopped set.

As Botabayev began raking in the pot to see him soar to 96,000, Moneymaker looked down at his dwindled 20,000-chip stack and commented, "I play so bad at times!"
