Leaoasavaii Wins Without Showing

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

A player in middle position raised to 600 preflop and Danny Leaoasavaii called from the next seat. The flop came down {Q-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and both players checked to see the {9-Spades} fall on the turn. The first player fired 800 and Leaoasavaii made the call.

The river completed the board with the {A-Hearts} and a bet of 2,100 was fired into Leaoasavaii. He made the call and his opponent mucked right away. Leaoasavaii didn't have to show and he didn't opt to, taking the pot with an unknown hand and moved to 26,500 in chips.

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante
Chris Moneymaker
Chris Moneymaker

Chris Moneymaker raised on the button to 575 and got called by the player in the big blind. The big blind was the same player that doubled Moneymaker up earlier with kings to Moneymaker's straight.

The flop came down {K-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and the big blind check-called Moneymaker's 700-chip continuation bet. The turn brought the {2-Spades} and Moneymaker fired 1,050 this time after his opponent checked. The big blind called and the river completed the board with the {10-Spades}. Both players checked and Moneymaker lost to his opponent's {K-Spades}{Q-Spades} to drop back to 19,225.

With about 14,000 chips in the pot and the board reading {K-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{9-Spades}, Jeff Lisandro fired 5,000 and was called by his opponent. The river was the {9-Diamonds} and paired the board. Lisandro fired 10,000 and got called again. Lisandro tabled the {J-Clubs}{J-Spades} for a full house and won the pot. He's up to 48,000 in chips now.

Khalil Busts Obst

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

James Obst raised Ali Khalil's bet of 1,700 to 5,050 on the flop of {Q-Spades}{J-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. Khalil reraised to 15,050 and after some thought, Obst moved all in for about 30,000. Khalil made the call.

Khalil: {Q-Hearts}{J-Spades}
Obst: {Q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

With top two pair, Khalil was looking to hold off the flush draw that Obst held. The turn brought the {8-Spades} to give Obst two pair, but he still needed a club or an eight on the river.

When the {10-Spades} hit the river, things were all over for Obst, who was only with us for one level of play today. Khalil bumped his stack to a nice 85,000 in chips with this hand.

Checking the {A-Hearts} on the turn, Brkovic was then faced with a bet of 3,500 that he quickly folded to while slipping to 35,600 in chips.

On a board of {Q-Spades}{3-Spades}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and a bet of 1,700 confronting him, Joe Hachem made the call next to act before Danny 'Brotha D' Leaoasavaii bumped it to 5,300 from the button.

The turn aggressor passed, but Hachem made the call to see the {8-Clubs} land on the river and the action checked over to Leaoasavaii.

The APPT Auckland and ANZPT Darwin Champion paused for a few moments before firing out a bet of 7,000 in which Hachem called.

Leaoasavaii tabled his {J-Spades}{8-Spades} to prompt a muck from Hachem as he slipped to 22,000 while Leaoasavaii climbed to 43,000 in chips.
