Rivered Book for Choi

On a board reading {6-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}, Inwook Choi fired out a bet of 1,525 only to have his opponent make it 3,500 to go.

Choi moved all in for an additional 3,350 and his opponent made the call tabling his {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} for trips.

Fortunately for Choi, his {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for a rivered full house would see him earn the double to 17,000 in chips.

Seet Doubles

Nathaniel Seet
Nathaniel Seet

In a four-bet pot, both Raymond Wu and Nathaniel Seet saw a {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop fall.

The original aggressor - and four-bettor - Wu fired out 10,025 only to have Seet move all in for an additional 1,500. Wu made the call to put his fellow tournament regular and friend at risk.

Wu: {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}
Seet: {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}

With Seet in a commanding position to double through, the {7-Hearts} and {2-Clubs} on the turn and river was enough to ensure him the double to 40,000 as Wu slips to 17,000 in chips.

Hachem Tripped Up

On a board reading {9-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{J-Spades}{8-Clubs} and the pot sitting at 5,100, Tony Hachem checked from out of the small blind to his opponent on the button.

After pausing for a few moments, Hachem's opponent fired out a bet of 2,250 as Hachem went deep into the tank to contemplate his decision.

Several minutes went by as Hachem muttered to himself before eventually sliding in the necessary chips to make the call.

Unfortunately for Hachem, he would be forced to kick his cards to the muck after his opponent tabled his {J-Hearts}{5-Spades}. For Hachem however, he still sits high up the leaderboard with 34,200 in chips.

Get Well Soon Joe!

Our PokerNews reporter spent some of his well-needed break in the company of Tony Hachem.

Talking to Tony, he explained to us that Joe wasn't making a fashionably late entrance, but instead was tucked up in his hotel room sick.

Tony wasn't quite sure exactly what Joe had come down with, but all that he - and now we - know is that Joe had the shivers all night and was likely due to food poisoning.

Tony was expecting Joe down here by level five, but with his chips easily making it through to Day 2, it might be wise for Joe to stay in his room all day!

Bihl Busts

Thomas Bihl
Thomas Bihl

Just prior to the break, Thomas Bihl unfortunately waved the tournament farewell.

Speaking to one of his tablemates, he detailed us that Bihl found himself all in preflop holding {6-Spades}{5-Hearts} and was up against {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}.

The board ran out {4-Clubs}{J-Spades}{2-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{8-Hearts} to see the 2007 WSOPE H.O.R.S.E Bracelet holder eliminated.

Edwards Chipping Up

Luke Edwards opened to 500 from under the gun and was called by a player in the cutoff as a {2-Spades}{6-Spades}{7-Spades} flop fell.

Edwards check-called 900 before both players checked the {10-Clubs} on the turn.

When the {J-Hearts} landed on the river, Edwards fired out 1,500 and picked up the pot uncontested to move to 17,000.

A few hands later, Edwards would pick up {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades} and find a double on a final board of {5-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} to move to 37,000 in chips.
