The turn put the 
on board and Assadourian checked. His opponent fired 1,000 and Assadourian quickly folded and got back to hsi conversation with Phan.

Many players today are trying to prove they're not afraid to mix it up right out of the gate. These are the first three hands we saw after the shuffle up and deal.
Table Two:
There was about 3,000 in the pot after a 
flop. The turn brought the 
, and Vinson Shi Guxin bet 1,125. Ljubisa Nedimovic raised to 4,000, and Vinson gave it up.
Table Three: On a board reading 
, Alexander Stahle was first to act. He checked, and Dimitrious Mertzanis bet 1,500. Then Stahle check-raised to 4,500. Mertzanis tanked a bit before folding.
Table Eight:
Two players made it heads up to the river of a 
board with only 800 chips in the pot. Mike Blaser bet 350, and Snoussi Samy meant business with a raise to 2,000. It was an easy fold for Blaser.
Daniel Nielson just had his bluff picked off by an opponent holding pocket aces. Doesn't Nielson know that nobody folds aces? On a final board of 
, the player fired 750 into Nielson. Nielson fired back with a raise to 2,625. The player tanked and then called.
Nielson tabled the 
, but his opponent held the 
and scooped the pot. That loss cost Nielson a few thousand chips and he's down to about 15,000.
We've spotted a few notables after a quick browse of the room here in ht early goings. Daniel Nielson, Emanuel "Curly" Seal, Aaron Benton, Roger Spets, David Steicke and Gijs Verheijen are all playing today. Terrence Chan is also in the field along with Team PokerStars Australia pro Eric Assadourian.
After another rousing Bian Lian mask-changing theatrical performance, Team PokerStars Pro Raymond Wu welcomed the players to the event in both Chinese and in English. "This is my favorite poker destination," Wu said, "and we are glad to have you here at PokerStars Macau."
Wu then gave the dealers the command to shuffle up and deal, and with that, Day 1b is a go!

It's hot and humid outside the Grand Lisboa, but cool and brisk inside with the air conditioning pumping for another day of poker. Today is Day 1b of the 2010 Asia Pacific Poker Tour Macau Main Event and it's set to kick off at 12:15 p.m. local time.
Yesterday saw 88 runners hit the felt in action and just over half of them hit the rail before day's end. Alexandre Chieng emerged as the chip leader, bagging up 113,100 chips. That's a pretty solid build from the starting stack of 20,000. He was the only player to reach the century mark and we'll see if anyone in the field can catch him today.
The field size should be the same or a tad larger today, with the largest field size coming in on Day 1c. The tournament staff has hopes of breaking 100, which is easily doable. As always with a PokerStars.net event, there will be plenty of qualifiers in the field and a few pros. The High Roller event had it's first day of action yesterday and some of those notables should find their way to the felt today if they failed to make it through to the second day of that event. As of right now though, we really don't know who's going to show up and play. Just as you're left in the dark, so are we. That should make for a welcome surprise.
