Team PokerStars Online's Randy Lew raised to 33,000 from middle position. Zheng Tai Tan reraised from the cutoff seat to 73,000 and then Daoxing Chen cold four-bet from the button to 223,000. Action folded back to Lew and he gave it up. Tan reraised all in for 390,000. Chen tanked for several minutes, even though it was just 167,000 more.
After awhile, Chen began reciting numbers as if he was counting the pot. When he did that, Bo Wu announced the amount that was in the pot. The tournament staff directly issued him with a three-hand penalty for doing so. Eventually, Chen called.
Action folded to Jeff Rossiter on the button and he raised to 32,000. Josh Barrett, whose brother Myles used to work with our very own Lynn Gilmartin at Crown in Melbourne, called from the big blind.
The flop came down and both players checked. The turn was the and Barrett bet 38,000. Rossiter raised to 105,000. Barrett gave it up and Rossiter won the pot.
From under the gun, Tsugunari Toma raised to 38,000. Yang Sun reraised all in from the next seat for 367,000. Action folded back to Toma. He took a minute to think things over, but then folded his hand.
Yang Sun is the latest victim of the rail with his tournament life coming to an end when he called a bet on the river for his tournament. He was going up against Sangeeth Mohan at the time, who showed top-pair, top-kicker - enough to send Sun to the rail.
When the action was folded to Sparrow Cheung in the small blind he looked towards the stack of Hui Xia in the big blind before shoving his stack all in. This is when Xia went deep into the tank.
After almost three minutes of thinking, Xia made the call and two players turned their hands over.
Xia:
Cheung:
It was a typical race situation and when the board ran out , it was all Xia as he took down the nice pot to sit healthy and leave Cheung with a crippled stack.
