Back From Break; Last Level

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

The players are back from their break and ready to play one more level of poker. In 60-minutes time, the surviving players will bag up their chips and get ready for Saturday's Day 2.

O'Rourke's Queens Hold Up

A players in the under-the-gun position just moved all in for his final 12,200, and Liam O'Rourke called two seats over. The action got folded to Kristian Lunardi in the big blind, and he took a serious look at his cards. After two seconds he started laughing, and it was clear he did this just to throw off O'Rourke a bit.

The board ran out {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Spades}{10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}, and O'Rourke added some more to his stack.

Grigg Gets There

Tom Grigg was in great shape to eliminate one opponent, holding {k-Spades}{q-Spades} against the all-in player's {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}. The player got his 8,800-chip stack in preflop and would need plenty of help after the dealer turned over a {9-Clubs}{5-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop. That help would come on the {10-Spades} turn, putting Grigg's opponent in front. However, Grigg had a huge amount of outs at this point and the {j-Spades} was one of them, sending Grigg the pot and sending the player home.

Bentley Rolling

Wayne Bentley was knocked down by Oliver Gill, but he just managed to double up. Bentley told us how his opponent raised to 3,000, and he made it 9,000 to go. The action got back to Bentley's opponent, who moved all in for 57,000.

The Brit called immediately, and showed {A-}{A-}. His opponent had {A-}{K-}, and Bentley doubled up after the board brought mere blanks.

Lunardi Wins Some Chips

Kristian Lunardi opened the action to 1,200 preflop and received calls from Steve Goodridge on his left and Tom Grigg in the big blind. The dealer turned over a {10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop and all three players checked.

On the {2-Hearts} turn, Grigg led for 1,800 and both his opponents called. A {3-Spades} would complete the board on the river and again Grigg bet, this time firing out 4,600. Lunardi and Goodridge both called, bringing forth a showdown.

"Well, that didn't work," said Grigg as he mucked his cards.

Lunardi tabled {k-Clubs}{10-Spades} at this point, enough to send Goodridge's {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} and plenty of chips into his stack.

Three More Hands

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

The tournament clock has been paused and the players have been told there will be three more hands at each table before the chips are bagged up for the night.

Rubie Drops Some

Brendon Rubie just tabled {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}, as he was looking to add even more chips to his big stack. His opponent showed {A-Hearts}{7-Spades}, and was looking for serious help.

The board ran out {3-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{5-Hearts}, and Rubie dropped some.

"One outer," Tom Grigg said after the board had brought an ace. Apparently two other players had folded an ace, and the all-in player got pretty lucky in order to stay alive!
