The final 16 are almost set for Day 3 of the 2012 PokerStars.net Asia Pacific Poker Tour Seoul Main Event. Leading the charge is Daisuke Endo with 650,000 in chips and he's trailed by 2012 Aussie Millions runner-up Kenneth Wong.

In 17th place was Fakher Alizai to end the day. Some of the notables still remaining are Michael Guzzardi, Elton Tsang and Jose Severino.

The top prize is set at ₩194,000,000 while everyone left has already secured a payday of ₩9,000,000. Play is set to kick off at noon or just shortly after and PokerNews will have all of the updates coming straight to your computer screen.

Feeling Each Other Out

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

From middle position, Vincent Rubianes raised to 20,000. Jhana Hale made the call on the button and everyone else folded, leaving heads-up action to the flop.

The {8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts} fell and both players checked. The also checked after the {5-Diamonds} landed on the turn and the {5-Clubs} paired the board on the river. Hale turned over the {K-Spades}{Q-Spades} and Rubianes mucked his hand.

Chris Lee Eliminated in 16th Place (KRW 9,000,000)

When the action was folded around to Chris Lee on the button he shoved all in for his last 79,000. Jose Severino was in the small blind and made a quick call. The big blind got out of the way and the two players turned their hands over.

Lee: {a-Hearts}{5-Spades}
Severino: {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}

By the time the board had ran out {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}, it was looking like it was either a chop or home time for Severino. Unfortunately for Lee it was the latter, with the {6-Diamonds} giving Severino the flush. For his effort Lee goes home with KRW 9,000,000.

Suck, Re-Suck and Guzzardi Doubles Through Hale

After Jhana Hale opened with a raise to 23,000 from middle position, Michael Guzzardi reraised all in for 141,000 from the hijack seat. Action folded back to Hale. He got the count, then called. Unfortunately, he saw the bad news as he was behind. Hale held the {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades} and Guzzardi the {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}.

The flop came down {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and Hale spiked a queen to move in front. Guzzardi still had outs to a king for a better pair or a jack for a straight.

The turn delivered with the {K-Hearts} for Guzzardi was he was back in the lead. The river landed with the {4-Diamonds} and completed the board. Guzzardi successfully doubled and is back over 300,000 in chips.

Outside of this deep APPT run, Guzzardi has run well in two other APPT Main Events. In 2008, he took 10th in the APPT Sydney event for AUD $28,000. In 2011, he took 15th in the APPT Melbourne event for AUD $15,300.

Alner Spikes To Double

Just one hand after his double up to back over 300,000, Michael Guzzardi raised to 20,000 from middle position. Tom Alner jammed all in from the button for 173,000. In the big blind, Takuya Kikuchi reraised all in for 265,000. Guzzardi said he had planned to call Alner, but now had to fold. He did so and watched Alner table the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} and Kikuchi the {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}.

The flop, turn and river ran out {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}{7-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{10-Spades} to give Alner a runner-runner Broadway straight and move to to 379,000 in chips.

Takuya Kikuchi Eliminated in 15th Place (KRW 9,000,000)

When Rafael Rodrigo opened the action with {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}, Takuya Kikuchi would shove his short stack in holding {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}. The rest of the table was out of the way and Rodrigo made the call.

It was a classic race and as is usual, there can only be one winner. The {7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{k-Spades}{9-Diamonds} board meant that the winner would be Rodrigo. Kikuchi was out the door in 15th place, picking up KRW 9,000,000.
