Another One Cracks Six Figures

When we came to Table 7 there was a board showing {9-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} and Croatia's Sasa Zorc was in a hand with one opponent. It all happened very fast as both player's chips went into the middle.

Zorc turned over {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} for a flopped flush, while his opponent's {j-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} was drawing dead. The {j-Spades} on the river gave the player an extra piece of the board, but not enough to win. Zorc took down that nice pot and now has over 100,000.

Wang Wasted Away

We weren't there to catch the action, but Jacky Wang wandered past the media desk and was kind enough to share the details of his demise with us.

It all started when Wang opened from under the gun. A player in middle position made the call and the button also came along for the ride as a {10-}{2-Clubs}{6-Clubs} flop was dealt. The play was checked to the middle position player who led for 5,500. The button the popped it to 11,000. Wang then shipped it for just over 50,000. The middle position player got out of the way and the button made the call.

Wang: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}
Opponent: {2-}{2-}

The turn and river bricked with low red cards, with no help for Wang sending him to the rail.

Liu Doubles Through Bian

On the {9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop, Hong Yan Bian checked and Chunmei Liu fired all in for 18,800. After some thought, Bian made the call holding the {8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} for a pair and a straight draw. Liu held a bigger pair with the {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}.

The kings held up for Liu after the {9-Spades} landed on the turn and the {2-Spades} on the river. Liu doubled and now has nearly 60,000 in chips while Bian dropped back to 55,000.
