ACOP Main Event

Day 1b Started

Welcome to Day 1b of the 2013 APPT Macau for the Asia Championship of Poker

Yesterday, the 2013 APPT Macau for the Asia Championship of Poker (ACOP) HK$100,000 (approximately $12,900) Main Event kicked off at the PokerStars Live at the City of Dreams and attracted 93 players. Today on Day 1b, even more players are expect to take their shot at the guaranteed HK$20,000,000 (approximately $2.58 million) prize pool.

Among those expected to be in action today are Team Online's Randy "nanonoko" Lew; European Poker Tour Barcelona champ Tom "hitthehole" Middleton; EPT champ David Vamplew; and the dangerous Kitty Kuo.

Who will join Day 1a chip leader Keith Ferrera; Full Tilt Poker Ambassador Jonathan Karamalikis (49,150); and Team PokerStars Pros Eugene Katchalov (49,325), Naoya Kihara (38,875), Vivian Im (36,900) and Bryan Huang (23,500) — all of who survived Day 1a — on Day 2? We'll find out over the course of four 90-minute levels of play.

Day 1b is set to kick off at 3:00 p.m. local time, which is just a couple hours from now. Be sure to check back then for all the latest and greatest from PokerStars Live at the City of Dreams in Macau. Lew Chips Up Early

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Following a raise to 250 in the cutoff and a three-bet to 650 from the button, Randy Lew cold four-bet to 1,450 from the small blind.

The original raiser passed, but the button made the call as the flop fell {A-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{9-Spades} and Lew continued for 1,200. The button popped it up to 2,400 and Lew made the call as the {4-Clubs} on the turn was checked through.

The river of the {3-Spades} saw Lew lead out for 2,575 and his opponent quickly made the call. Lew tabled his {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts} and scooped the pot to move to roughly 37,500 in chips.

Tang vs. Kuo

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Kitty Kuo opened for 300 and received a call from Devan Tang in the small blind. The latter proceeded to check-call a bet of 600 on the {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop, and then checked for a second time when the {3-Diamonds} turned.

Kuo wasted little time in betting 1,200, but she couldn't shake her opponent as Tang made a relatively quick call. When the {3-Hearts} completed the board on the river, Tang checked and Kuo did the same. Tang tabled the {5-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for eights and fives, and it was good as Kuo mucked her cards.
