Trips for Devan

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Chenxiang Miao raised to 16,000 and Yifan Zheng, Devan Tang and Yoshitaka Okawa all called to see a {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop that was checked round.

The turn of the {10-Spades} was also checked through before Tang led for 30,000 when the river landed the {3-Diamonds}. Okawa and Zheng passed, but Zheng made the call only to fold once he saw Tang's {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts} for trips.

Chenxiang Miao Eliminated in 8th Place (HKD$594,000)

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Chenxiang Miao - 8th place
Chenxiang Miao - 8th place

Chenxiang Miao opened the action for 16,000 from early position and received a call from chip leader Yifan Zheng. Devan Tang tagged along from the big blind and three players saw a flop of {q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Spades}. Tang checked, Miao moved all in for 95,500, and Zheng made the call.

At this point Tang grabbed three towers of yellow T5,000 chips and slid out a check-raise to 300,000. Zheng stared down his opponent for a five seconds or so and then announced that he was all in. Tang shot back in his chair in disbelief and eventually released his hand.

Miao: {q-Clubs}{k-Clubs}
Zheng: {j-Clubs}{10-Spades}

Zheng had flopped the nuts, and that meant Miao needed running cards to stay alive. The {7-Clubs} turn took away any chance of that happening, and after the {J-Diamonds} was run out on the river, he took his leave while Zheng was pushed the large pot.

Tang bet out 30,000 and Zheng instantly folded to give Tang the pot.

Randy Lew Eliminated in 7th Place (HKD$792,000)

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Randy Lew - 7th place
Randy Lew - 7th place

Two years ago, Team Online's Randy Lew won the 2011 PokerStars.net Asia Pacific Poker Tour Macau Main Event for HKD$3,772,000. Lew had his sights set on a second title in as many years here in Macau, but his dreams were recently crushed by Jonathan Depa.

It happened when Yifan Zheng opened for 16,000 under the gun and Jonathan Depa, who was next to act, made the call. Lew then moved all in for his last 110,000 from the hijack, Zheng folded, and Depa made the call.

Lew: {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}
Depa: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

It was the exact same situation as Kampanatsanyakorn's elimination an hour early, and once again both players would end up with a full house after the board ran out {9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{7-Clubs}. Lew's was inconsequential though as he had hit it on the river after drawing dead on the turn. Lew exited to a nice round of applause and took home HKD$792,000 for his seventh-place finish.

When the turn landed the {8-Diamonds}, Cheng bet out 28,000 and Tang called as the {4-Diamonds} on the river saw Tang bet out 35,000. Cheng mucked and Tang collected the pot to move to 580,000.

Jung Flushed with Double

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Sunny Jung opened to 17,000 and Yifan Zheng called on the button to see a {Q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} flop fall. Jung continued for 26,000 only to have Zheng raise to 56,000. Jung responded by making it 146,000 and Zheng moved all in with Jung snapping off his 311,500 total.

Jung: {8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Zheng: {Q-Clubs}{2-Clubs}

With Jung drawing, the {J-Diamonds} on the turn gave him his flush as the {10-Hearts} completed the board on the river to send him climbing to 660,000 while Zheng slipped to 1,850,000.

A Runner-Runner Surprise

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

We picked up the action with 80,000 or so in the pot and a board reading {8-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{8-Hearts}{k-Spades}. Devan Tang had checked from the small blind and Jonathan Depa fired out a bet of 49,000 from the button. Tang gave it some thought before calling, and then he checked once again on the {7-Spades} river.

Depa took the opportunity to bet 107,000, and Tang opted to look him up. Depa rolled over the {q-Spades}{5-Spades} for a runner-runner flush, and Tang was clearly unhappy as he chucked his cards into the muck.
