Nahum Lum will start the day as the chip leader!

We're back inside the luxurious confines of the poker room at the City of Dreams, and we're getting set to go on Day 2 of the 2013 PokerStars.net APPT Macau Main Event!

We've got 168-runners still in contention for the title, with Nahum Lim leading them all with 158,500 in chips that he accumulated on Day 1a. 120 will unfortunately go away empty handed, with the top 48 guaranteed a payday this week, and we expect to come close to bursting that bubble before wrapping up the day.

The chip bags are just starting to appear on the tables, and the tournament staff are preparing the room for the arrival of the players. We'll get things rolling at 3:00pm again, about 30-minutes from now.

Don't wander too far, the shuffle up and deal isn't to far away!

Strang Misses Flush

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

With a flop showing {10-Hearts}{9-Spades}{5-Spades}, the player in the small blind checked over to Errolyn Strang, who moved all in for her last 14,900 from the cut-off. Her opponent thought for a minute before making the call, as both players tabled their cards.

Strang: {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

Strang had a flush draw as well a chance to make a better pair, but was eliminated early in proceedings, when the board ran out the {4-Clubs} and {3-Hearts}.

Jones Eliminated

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

The action started with the player in the hijack opening the pot, before Didier Guerin raised to 4,600 from the cut-off. Lacey Jones then pushed all in for her last 20,000 in chips, which was met with a 5-bet jam from the player in the small blind. With the bet having everyone covered, the original player mucked his hand, as Guerin then went into the tank. He finally let it go, as the two live players tabled their cards.

Jones: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}
Opponent: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}

Jones had run into pocket aces, and found no help, as the board ran out {3-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}.

O’Rourke Doubles.. And He’s Gone!

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

In the space of two hands, Liam O’Rourke was able to double-up, and then get eliminated.

In the first hand, O’Rourke opened to 4,500 from under the gun +1, leaving himself with a 500-chip behind. It folded around to the player in the big blind, who raised, as O’Rourke made the call.

O’Rourke: {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Opponent: {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

He was able to hold, as the board ran out {J-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs} to see him move to11,400.

In the very next hand, O’Rourke again opened from under the gun, for 11,000, leaving himself 300 behind. Sangeeth Mohan was in the cut-off, and made the call, not noticing that O’Rourke had kept some chips to himself.

The flop came down {A-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, and O’Rourke promptly threw his remaining chips into the middle, and was called, as both players tabled their cards.

O’Rourke: {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}
Opponent: {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}

This time O’Rourke’s opponent had out-flopped him, and he was unable to improve as the turn and river came the {Q-Spades} and {4-Spades}.

Wong Gone

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

We arrived at the table to see the player in middle position open to 2,300. He was called by the player to his left, before Kenny Wong moved all in for his last 9,300 from the hijack. With the decision back on the original better, he raised it up to 18,800, sending his opponent into the tank. A few minutes passed, and he released his hand, as the other two players tabled their cards.

Wong: {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}
Opponent: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}

Unfortunately for Wong, the board ran out {Q-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{8-Spades}, to see him out-flopped, and sent to the rail.

Wah: {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}
Lee: {2-Spades}{2-Clubs}

Lee had taken the lead by flopping a set of deuces, and held as the board ran out the {10-Spades} and {6-Hearts}. The big pot sees Lee move up to 125,000, as Wah drops down to 15,000 in chips.
