Wright Doubles Through Sim

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Jae Kyung Sim opened to 40,000 from the button, before Anthony Wright moved all-in from the small blind. Magnus Karlsson got out of the way, leaving a decision for Sim.

He sat forward in his chair, agonising about the decision. He counted out the call, and placed it to the side of his towering stack, thinking about what to do. He eventually made the call as both players tabled their cards.

Wright: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}
Sim: {Q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}

Sim wasn't happy when he saw Wright's cards, hoping he had a few more outs before the board was spread out. In the end he couldn't improve, as the board showed {2-Spades}{10-Spades}{6-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}, giving Wright another much needed double-up.

We See a Turn!

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

After almost half-an-hour of play without seeing a turn, Jae Kyung Sim and Magnus Karlsson played out a hand to the river.

It started with Sim opening to 50,000 from the button, before being met with a raise to 99,000 from Karlsson on the big blind. Sim made the call, as both players saw the flop come {9-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{A-Hearts}. Both were happy to check, as the {6-Spades} fell on the turn. Karlsson slid out a bet of 100,000 which was quickly called, as the {3-Hearts} completed the board.

Both players checked, before Karlsson tabled his {K-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} for two-pair. Sim then showed his {7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} for a better two-pair, as he took down the pot.

Sim moves up to almost two-and-a-half million in chips.

Anthony Wright Eliminated in 3rd Place (PHP 1,480,000)

Anthony Wright - 3rd Place

In the final hand before the break, Jae Kyung Sim opened to 50,000 from the small blind, before being met with an all-in for 300,000 from Anthony Wright on the big blind. Sim snap-called and both players tabled their cards.

Sim: {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}
Wright: {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}

The flop came {5-Spades}{8-Spades}{10-Spades}, which was no help for Sim. Cries of "ACE!" were being yelled from Sim's rail as the dealer produced the {A-Diamonds} on the turn. The rail erupted as Sim took the lead, and was able to hold on as the {8-Diamonds} completed the board.

A great run by Wright, who earns himself PHP 1,480,000 for his troubles.

Short Break

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Magnus Karlsson and Jae Kyung Sim are taking a short break while the floor staff preps the table for heads up play.

Magnus Karlsson Eliminated in 2nd Place (PHP 2,538,000), Jae Kyung Sim Wins!

After 90 minutes of three handed play, heads up lasted all of three hands. Magnus Karlsson raised it up to 60,000, and Jae Kyung Sim made the call. The flop came {4-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades}, and Sim checked to Karlsson, who bet out 65,000. It was on Sim now, and he cut out the chips for the call. Then he cut out raising chips, and began shuffling both of them separately. Eventually, he put the raise in, a bet of 155,000. Karlsson moved all in after 30 seconds of thought, and Sim instantly called.

Sim: {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}
Karlsson: {10-Spades}{6-Hearts}

Sim's rail erupted when they saw that Sim had flopped the nuts, but Karlsson could still catch an eight for a chop. The {7-Diamonds} on the turn didn't do that, and the {3-Hearts} on the river sealed it.

While Karlsson fell just short of the win, 2.5 million Philippine Pesos will likely be a good consolation for him.
