Power Play For Liu

Level 10 : 700/1,400, 200 ante
Xuan Liu - One of the Big Stacks
Xuan Liu - One of the Big Stacks

Xuan Liu is truly thriving today. We caught up with her heads up in a pot with Xiao Yang Cui where the completed board read {5-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs}. Liu dropped out a stack of 30,000 in chips which was enough to put Cui all in for his last roughly 23,000.

Cui tanked for well over two minutes while facing this bet from Liu. Eventually he decided to give up and the pot was pushed to Liu. She's now sitting on about 172,000 in chips.

Hays Folds To Five-Bet

Level 10 : 700/1,400, 200 ante

The player in the cutoff opened to 3,500 only to find Park Yu Cheung three-bet to 8,500 from the next seat over on the button. Xuan Liu got out of the way from the small blind and Foster Hays peeked at his cards in the big blind.

Hays took his time and cut out a four-bet to 18,000 total. The cutoff quickly mucked and Cheung replied by dropping all of his yellow t5,000 chips into the center. This was a bet for Hays' tournament life and he decided not to play, folding his hand and awarding Cheung the pot. Cheung is now one of the biggest stacks in the room with about 195,000 in chips.

Kim Doubles Through Osada

Level 10 : 700/1,400, 200 ante
John Kim (Day 1b)
John Kim (Day 1b)

It seems that every time we come across John Kim's table he has the "all-in" button in front of him. This hand was no different.

Kim had managed to work his stack back up and was now all in for his last 38,400 before the flop with {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}. Kim was racing against the {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} of Masahiro Osada.

The flop gave Kim the lead as it paired his ace with {A-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. Kim was looking to dodge hearts or a ten on the following streets. He managed to do so as the turn was the {3-Diamonds} and the river the {7-Diamonds}. He was able to score a huge double to continue his roller coaster of the day and now sits on about 78,000 in chips.
