Davies Stays Active

Level 17 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Scott Davies defended his small blind against a raise of Sheng Sun and the value-bet worth 75,000 on the {6-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{2-Hearts} was paid off by the start-of-the-day chip leader, who then mucked when the American showed him {10-Hearts}{8-Spades} for a straight.

Davies also raised onto the big blind of Kim Wittendorff and the Dane check-called a continuation bet worth 28,000 on the {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop. On the {A-Clubs} turn, Wittendorff check-called 60,000 and Davies gave up the {10-Hearts} river and checked behind.

"I would have called anyways," the Dane said after flipping over {A-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} for top pair.
