Li Pressures Nguyen

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

The flop showed {6-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs} when Boris Li check-raised from the big blind to 7,600. The player on his left, Minh Nguyen, had put out 3,100 and after a while he made the call.

The turn brought the {2-Diamonds} and Li fired out another 8,600 and Nguyen tanked before calling.

On the river the {4-Spades} hit and rather quickly Li put out 30,000, which was enough to put Nguyen all in.

Nguyen gave it some thought but ultimately he folded, leaving himself with 27,000 chips.

Hiroyuki Tanaka Doubles Through Tsuchikawa

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

Tetsuya Tsuchikawa raised to 2,500 from middle position and was called by Nick Wong in the small blind. Hiroyuki Tanaka then bumped it up to 6,500 from the big blind as the decision fell back on Tsuchikawa. He made the call then Wong folded.

The flop came down {7-Clubs}{a-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and Tanaka reached for his chips and bet out 7,500. The bet was called before both players watched the {8-Clubs} fall on the turn. Tanaka then moved all in for 21,000 and was quickly called before both players tabled their cards.

Tanaka: {A-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Tsuchikawa: {A-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

Tanaka was in great shape with the superior kicker and held on as the {10-Hearts} completed the board.

Aces for Juicy

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 100 ante
Juicy Li

The start of Day 2 has been a complete disaster for Tyler Jennens so far, as he just lost another very big pot with a strong holding. A player raised to 2,400 after which Kitty Kuo threw in the call and Jennens three-bet to 7,500 from the cutoff. Juicy Li, who was seated in the big blind, paused for a bit before making it 16,200 and the initial raiser went into the tank.

Meanwhile, Kuo folded her cards as she had not seen the other player. Kuo was under the impression she had raised to 2,500, but in the end it made not difference as the initial raiser folded and Jennens moved all in. Li snap-called for 32,400 and the showdown went as following.

Li: {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}
Jennens: {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}

The board ran out {10-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and Li more than doubled up. Jennens was left with 40,000 after having started the day with more than 100,000 chips.

Lkhagvaa Dugarbaatar raised to 2,800 from middle position and was called by Celina Lin on the button as well as Winfred Yu and Yasuyuki Asakura in the blinds.

The flop came down {4-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and all four players opted to check. After the dealer produced the {k-Hearts} on the turn the action checked around to Lin who slid out 6,600 in chips. Only Yu made the call as the pair waited for the {9-Hearts} to complete the board.

Yu sat motionless for a moment before moving all in for around 20,000 in chips. It didn't take Lin long to muck her hand relinquishing the pot to Yu.

Baba Calls Down Kurita

Level 10 : 700/1,400, 200 ante

Shunter Baba raised before the flop and from the button it was Yu Kurita who three-bet to 6,500. The action folded back to Baba and he made the call.

The flop came down {4-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades} and Baba check-called a bet of 5,500. On the turn the {K-Spades} hit and this time Baba check-called 8,800.

The river brought the {7-Spades} and Kurita immediately checked behind when Baba checked to her again. Baba quickly showed {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} and that was enough to take down the pot.
