We arrived at the table to find both Kitty Kuo and Juicy Li check their options on a flop.
The turn brought the and Kuo quickly threw out 9,000 in chips which was called before the completed the board.
Kuo cut out her bet and slid out 25,000 and Li made the call almost instantly. Kuo then tabled her for a full house, much to the surprise of Li, who mucked her hand.
We just saw a four-way flop, on which both blinds, including Kitty Kuo, checked to Eric Yim. Yim was seated under the gun and bet 5,500, which was called by only Junichi Nakagiri in position.
On the turn the hit and Yim checked to Nakagiri who quickly moved all in.
Yim looked back down at his cards, and then slid forward the call as he 12,300 chips left in front of him.
Yim:
Nakagiri:
The river was the and Yim raked in a double up.
"Man, I needed that," Yim said in excitement while Nakagiri is now the one looked for some help as he's down to less than 10 big blinds.
APPT President Danny McDonagh just announced that there will be a maximum of 12 levels played today, with an extended break after the eighth level. If a final table is reached before the end of the 12th level play will also conclude for the day.
McDonagh thinks we will get close to a final table tonight, and at least get a lot further down in the structure compared to last year when 23 players returned on the final day. With the extended break of about 30 minutes after the eighth level we're looking at a finishing time of around 1:00 a.m. local time.
For players in the event, the last level of the day will be 5,000/10,000 with a 1,000 ante. With 10 players in the last level of the day the average stack would be 48 big blinds, which is right on par with the current average.
Passing by Table 7 we noticed several players all in. Min Soon Lim had committed all his chips as did 2013 APPT Seoul champion Aaron Lim who had an additional 46,700 on top. Hiroyuki Tanaka had made the call covering both players.
Tanaka:
A. Lim:
M. Lim:
Tanaka was in great shape to take out two players but would've been nervous when the flop came down giving Aaron Lim the flush draw. Fortunately for him the board ran out the and to see him hold with the pair as he took out two players.
Tanaka now has 225,000 in chips and leads the pack heading into the first break of the day.
Lkhagvaa Dugarbaatar played some very interesting pots with Team PokerStars Pro Bryan Huang on Day 1a, and just now he clashed with Team PokerStars Pro Celina Lin. Dugarbaatar limped before the flop and the action folded to Lin in the big blind, who opted to move all in for 23,400.
Dugarbaatar tanked for quite some time, but eventually he made the call.
Lin:
Dugarbaatar:
The board ran out and Lin managed to double her stack up leaving Dugarbaatar with very little chips.
The action started with Justin Chan raising to 4,000 from middle position before Jae Kyung Sim moved all in for his remaining 18,100 from the next seat along. Kelvin Beattie was in the cut off and made the call as the decision fell back on Chan. He folded his hand and the cards where shown.
Beattie:
Sim:
The board ran out to see Beattie hold with his pocket pair sending the 2013 APPT Cebu champion, Sim, to the rail.
