Nakano's Quads

Level 12 : 900/1,800, 300 ante

We rushed over to Table 8 after hearing a big cheer.

When we arrived we saw Genki Nakano all in for 103,000 holding {Q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} on a {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{5-Spades}{q-Clubs} board. The Japanese player had rivered quad queens against Germany’s Patrick Weifels {a-}{k-} Broadway straight.

All the money went in on the turn after an exchange of raises with Nakano getting lucky on the river to see him rocket up the chip counts.

Min's Queens Hold Up

Level 12 : 900/1,800, 300 ante

Hirotoshi Nakabo raised under the gun to 4,400 and the action folded to Mick Min who three-bet to 11,000. The action folded back to Nakabo who tanked for quite some time before making it 27,500. Min moved all in for 51,000 and Nakabo put in the call.

Nakabo: {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}
Min: {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {10-Spades}{3-Spades}{7-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and Min's pair of queens held up. Min, who qualified for this tournament in a live satellite at the Walker Hill casino, is back in the game with more than the average stack.

Li Has The Last Laugh

Level 12 : 900/1,800, 300 ante

We arrived at the table with the flop spread out {a-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and almost 30,000 in the pot.

Juicy Li checked from the small blind before Tomoyasu Arai bet out 6,000 from under the gun. The bet was called and both players watched as the {3-Spades} fell on the turn.

Li instantly bet out 7,000 and was called before the {4-Diamonds} completed the board. Li reached for her chips and splashed out 12,000 and sat there calmly waiting for her opponents decision.

Arai stared down Li but then burst into laughter after not being able to hold a straight face. Li laughed as well but still gave nothing away before Arai called time on himself.

With a few seconds to go he opted to fold as his cards flew into the muck. Li revealed a {9-Diamonds} before raking in the pot and moving up to 77,000 in chips.

Nozaki Cracks Chung's Kings

Level 12 : 900/1,800, 300 ante

Tom Alner just helped us piece together a big hand as the dealer was counting down the stacks of both players involved. Koichi Nozaki raised before the flop after which Lawrence Chung and Alner called from the blinds.

The flop came down {J-Spades}{10-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and the action was checked to Nozaki who bet, Chung raised and Alner folded. Nozaki then moved all in and Chung called for just shy of 70,000 chips. Nozaki had him covered.

Nozaki: {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}
Chung: {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}

The turn was the {6-Clubs} and that gave Nozaki a winning flush, as Chung did not have a redraw to a higher flush. On the river the {2-Diamonds} hit and Chung hit the rail.

Chane Kampanatsanyakorn
Chane Kampanatsanyakorn

There will be a new champion this year after Chane Kampanatsanyakorn was recently eliminated.

We were informed by a tournament staff that the defending champion was all in pre flop holding {a-}{10-} and was up against Tai Tan’s {7-}{7-}.

The board blanked and Kampanatsanyakorn was sent to the rail after another impressive run at an APPT Seoul main event.

Nakano Eliminates Siu

Level 12 : 900/1,800, 300 ante

The action started with Masaki Nakano raising to 4,100 from under the gun plus one. He was called by Tai Tan in middle position as well as Yang Wang on the button before Meikat Siu moved all in for her remaining 11,200 in chips. Nakano then reached for his chips and splashed out another raise to 24,400 which sent Tan thinking. He eventually made the call then Wang folded.

The flop came down {6-Spades}{2-Clubs}{j-Hearts} and both live players checked. The {8-Hearts} on the turn saw Nakano bet out 12,000 and get snap called before the {3-Diamonds} completed the board. Both players checked and waited as Siu tabled her {6-Hearts}{5-Spades} Her pair would not win though as Nakano casually tabled his {a-Hearts}{j-Spades} for the best hand.
