Once Upon a Flop

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Four hands in a row there was a raise, a three-bet and a fold.

Jessie Leonarez opened to 135,000 and folded to the shove of Aaron Lim.

Lim opened to 120,000 from the button and let go when Douglas Olsson three-bet to 300,000 in the big blind.

Thomas Lee's 150,000 raise on the button failed to win down the pot, as Leonarez three-bet to 400,000 and took it down.

Olsson's 125,000 button raise triggered a three-bet of Leonarez for the second time in a row and the 350,000-squeeze did the trick.

Then, finally, there was a flop again after almost 20 minutes. Lim opened to 130,000 on the button and Lee called in the small blind. On the {K-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} flop, Lee check-called a bet worth 130,000 before letting go on the {3-Diamonds} turn when Lim fired a second barrel worth 265,000.

Lee Versus Fan

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Terry Lee opened from early position and was called by Terry Fan in the big blind. On the {A-Spades}{10-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} flop, Fan check-called a bet of 125,000 and did so again for 350,000 on the {4-Hearts} turn. The {8-Clubs} river triggered a check from Fan once again and Lee grabbed chips for an expensive bet. It looked like 800,000 to call and that proved to be too much for Fan.

The five remaining players are off on a 10-minute break with the end of Level 26 now upon them.

Terry Fan

Jessie Leonarez made it 110,000 and both Terry Fan and Douglas Olsson called. The flop came down {5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} and after two checks in front, Terry Fan made it 150,000.

Olsson called before Leonarez bumped it up to 500,000 with a check-raise. Fan responded by pushing all in for some 1,340,000 more and after Olsson folded, Leonarez went deep into the tank.

He emerged a few minutes later with a fold, handing Fan the pot.

Hayato Kitajima Eliminated in 6th Place (PHP 873,000)

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Hayato Kitajima
Hayato Kitajima

Jessie Leonarez opened to 110,000 and Hayato Kitajima moved all in for 945,000 from one seat over. Aaron Lim asked for a count in the small blind but elected to fold, so did Thomas Lee in the big blind. Leonarez snap-called and immediately pumped his fists to the local rail when seeing the cards of his opponent.

Leonarez: {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}
Kitajima: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}

The {4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{9-Diamonds} flop was save for the Filipino, but he almost had a heart attack on the {9-Spades} after thinking it was the eight. His rail asked for an ace and sure enough the dealer burned and turned the {A-Clubs} to eliminate Kitajima in 6th place for PHP 873,000.

The Japanese then stayed for a group selfie with his friends and other Japanese media in front of an APPT banner before collecting his payout.

Iona Finkenrath
Iona Finkenrath

Iona Finkenrath pushed in facing a 100,000-chip open from Douglas Olsson and he made the call.

Finkenrath's {a-Spades}{k-Hearts} was ahead of Olsson's {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}, but by the time the board rolled out {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} Olsson had gone runner-runner to make a straight and bust him.

Lim Doubles Through Lee

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Thomas Lee raised to 110,000 from under the gun and Aaron Lim moved all in out of the big blind, resulting in a pretty quick call of the Canadian.

Lim: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
Lee: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

The board ran out {A-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and Lim doubled up for 760,000, costing Lee about one fourth of his stack.
