He Wins One With a Shove

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante

Hao He opened to 300 from middle position, getting a caller before the big blind player re-raised to 1,500. Both players called, and they saw the flop coming {8-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{5-Hearts}.

The big blind player bet 3,000, and only He called. The turn was the {a-Clubs}, bringing three clubs in the board, and the aggressor this time checked, with He betting 5,500, to see his opponent calling the bet.

The {2-Diamonds} completed the board on the river, and He announced all in, after his opponent's check, which was enough to make him fold, with He scooping the pot.

Tamilsilvan Up From Starting Stack

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante

The player under the gun opened to 400 and Arvin Tamilsilvam three-bet from the next position to 1,400. It folded back to the original raiser who called.

The flop was {j-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} and the under the gun player check-called 1,500. He then opted to bet out on the {3-Spades} turn for 5,500 and Tamilsilvam called.

The river was the {8-Hearts} and both players quickly checked. Tamilsilvam watched his opponent show {a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}, but he had him outkicked with {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts} and took down the pot.

"Did you say yes?"

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

You might hear those kind of questions in poker tables too, but for a whole different kind of reason. There was a controversy hand in a table where Fumimasa Hirasawa had gone all in for 15,000 chips in the river, with the board reading {2-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}.

His opponent had bet 4,900, and was in the tank, struggling whether he should call or not. He then asked the dealer if he could open his cards while he was thinking, which is what he did, eventually.

As soon as he opened his cards, the dealer picked them up and put them to the muck, giving the pot to Hirasawa. The other player asked the dealer why she took his cards, since he didn't announce any action, and she called the floor manager.

The floor manager said that the rules say he can't open his cards, and think. If he opens them, it is an instant fold. The player said that he asked the dealer, and she said yes.

"Did you say yes?", the floor manager asked the dealer. "No," was her reply, and then the floor turned to the player, and said "She didn't say yes".

"Oh she said yes", was the player's answer, and the floor person said one last time "she didn't say yes", before leaving the table.

Either way, Hirasawa is the player who won the pot.
