Bien Chips Up Without Showdown; Abdulla Joins the Leaders

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Ceesvin Abdulla
Ceesvin Abdulla

Ceesvin Abdulla in early position, Hamish Crawshaw in the cutoff and Mai Bien out of the small blind invested 6,000 chips each to see a flop of {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} go check, check. On the {2-Clubs} turn, Bien bet 12,400 and received two folds.

Abdulla remained a big stack after this hand and then not only made up for the losses but pulled further ahead when he knocked out Ngoc Anh Cao. According to Abdulla, he three-bet out of the big blind and Cao just called. They checked the {k-}{9-}{7-} flop and Cao bet the {4-} turn for 7,000 to receive a call.

Cao then jammed the {j-} river with aces and Abdulla called with jacks for the rivered set.

Appledorf Cannot Hit any Draws

Level 5 : Blinds 200/500, 500 ante
Howard Appledorf
Howard Appledorf

"I cannot hit a draw in two days, how I stayed so long, I don't know," Howard Appledorf sighed on his way out of the tournament area as his seat was empty. There was a massive stack one seat over that belonged to Florencio Campomanes, who provided the following details.

According to Campomanes, he opened the {7-Hearts}{3-Hearts} from under the gun and was called two ways including by Appledorf in the big blind. On a {10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop all players checked and the {3-Diamonds} followed on the turn. Appledorf bet 2,700 and Campomanes raised to 8,800 before sigh-calling the shove.

He was shown the {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for the open ender and flush draw by Appledorf, who bricked the {2-Clubs} on the river.

Joining the action on the {k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs} turn, Ceesvin Abdulla bet 7,500 out of the small blind and Adalsteinn Karlsson called on the button within a few seconds of consideration. The {5-Clubs} followed on the river and Abdulla pushed all-in for 21,400. That covered Karlsson by one T-500 chip only and the fold came one minute later.

Sai Gets Reskallah to Fold a Flush

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
Benjamin Sai
Benjamin Sai

In a battle hijack versus button with around 10,500 in the middle to the {9-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{7-Clubs}, Benjamin Sai pushed all-in for what appeared to be 24,200. Aladin Reskallah was in the tank for a long time and ultimately bemoaned a very tight fold, exposing the {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}.

"Good fold, he has the ace-high flush or a full house," Sofia Lovgren remarked. "Why would you shove a full house?" Reskallah remarked and then asked his opponent if he could beat a flush, to wish Sai shook his head.
