Meerwais Hussaini
Meerwais Hussaini

The action started with an under-the-gun raise to 11,000 by Zhao Feng and Hak Do Kim then three-bet jammed for 67,000 in the small blind. Meerwais Hussaini called all-in out of the big blind for fewer than that and Feng snap-called both with the covering stack.

Meerwais Hussaini: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Hak Do Kim: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Zhao Feng: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}

The board ran out {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} and two players were sent to the rail as the field dropped to just 57 contenders.

Lee Out Before the Money

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Hwany Lee
Hwany Lee

According to Hamish Crawshaw, Hwany Lee had suffered a nasty beat when his queens lost to ace-queen despite a queen on the flop.

He then faced a raise to 11,000 by Jianguo Zhou and Daniel Smiljkovic called in the small blind, as did Lee in the big blind. The flop came {10-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and it checked to Zhou and he bet 18,000. Smiljkovic checked his stack carefully and folded while Lee reluctantly jammed for around 70,000 to get called by Zhou.

Hwany Lee: {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Jianguo Zhou: {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}

The {2-Clubs} turn and {6-Diamonds} river ensured that the kicker played and the field was reduced to the final 56 players. Once all hands are completed, a table will break and the action then continues hand-for-hand on the bubble.

Alexander Puchalski

Hand-for-hand mode had not kicked off yet because there was an all-in and call over on table nine.

On the heads-up flop of {q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}, Jean-Robert Autran had check-jammed into a bet worth 25,000 by Alexander Puchalski and the latter called all-in for 236,000 as the player at risk.

Alexander Puchalski: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Jean-Robert Autran: {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

The {a-Spades} turn and {q-Diamonds} river secured the double-up of Puchalski while Autran plummeted to a short stack.

Lovgren-Fullmer Doubles on the Bubble

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Yong Chen in the big blind and Sofia Lovgren-Fullmer in an early position played a bigger pot to the {q-Clubs}{8-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} river on which Chen moved all-in as the first player to act. Lovgren-Fullmer called all-in and they already exposed their cards despite being hand-for-hand on the money bubble.

That drew a crowd around the table and the cards were flipped over again until all other tables were completed.

Once that was taken care of, Chen revealed his {9-Spades}{7-Diamonds} again and Lovgren-Fullmer doubled with the {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for 139,000.

Sofia Lovgren-Fullmer: {k-Hearts}{4-Hearts}

Nguyen First Casualty in the Money

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Duy Tung Nguyen had survived the money bubble with a shorter stack and then jammed it in with a suited king to get called by Yong Chen.

Duy Tung Nguyen: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Yong Chen: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

"Just chop it up," Nguyen joked and both players had a back door flush draw on the {10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} flop. The {7-Hearts} turn provided a freeroll to Chen which he hit with the {9-Hearts} river.

Natalie Teh
Natalie Teh

Keita Minami was spotted on his way to the payout desk and Natalie Teh collected the pot.

The cards of Minami were already mucked while the board showed {6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and Teh had the winning hand with {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts} for a set of fours. According to several players at the table, Minami had bet the turn and jammed the river with {a-}{5-} when he missed the straight draw and only made a pair of fives on a four-card straight board.

Florencio Campomanes was the next to fall when his {a-Spades}{9-Clubs} failed to hold up against chip leader Nam Hyung Kim's {k-Spades}{j-Hearts} and Daniel Smiljkovic followed suit moments later.
