Marchese Not Slowing Down Against Guillen

From middle position, Tom Marchese raised to 2,300. Team PokerStars Pro Angel Guillen was the only player to call, and he did so from the cutoff seat.

The dealer spread the {K-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop, and Marchese continued with a bet of 2,700. Guillen called. Then, the {A-Clubs} landed on the turn. Marchese didn't slow down, and he bet 6,400. Guillen gave it up, and Marchese won the pot.

Maximum Pressure on Watson

Tom Marchese is sitting out of position against plenty of world class players, but so far this does not seem to bother him at all. Marchese just raised from the button to 2,200 and Mike Watson three-bet to 6,000 from the small blind. Marchese called.

The flop brought out {3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and Watson bet 5,000. Marchese raised it up to 10,000 and Watson called.

On the turn the {A-Clubs} showed up, and both players checked. The river was the {5-Clubs} and Watson checked once more. Marchese grabbed a big pile of yellow 5,000 chips and put Watson all in. He had around 42,000 chips and thought about it long and hard before he made the call.

Marchese turned over {A-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and split the pot against Watson's {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}. Play went on as if nothing happened, but everyone at the table did get a litte more information about the play of these two players.

Coin Flip Sends Elias Packings

Darren Elias is no longer competing for the first prize worth over half a million US dollars. He was just knocked out by Bjorn Li who was on the better end of a coin flip.

Li raised preflop and Elias moved all in for right around 20,000 chips with {4-}{4-}. Li called with {A-}{q-} and the board gave him the winning hand.

Huang Misses Draw and Busts To Zhou

Bryan Huang (Day 1)
Bryan Huang (Day 1)

Team PokerStars Pro Bryan Huang was all in on the {J-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop with the {10-Spades}{9-Hearts} for an open-ended straight draw. He was up against the {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} for Xing Zhou.

The turn brought the {8-Spades} to pair the board, and the river was the {5-Hearts}. Both cards failed to give Huang the winning hand, and he was out the door. Zhou moved to 300,000 in chips.

Lucky Pan

Jimmy Pan just caught a very lucky break moving him back up to 50,000 chips. Pan told us how he moved all in for 15,000 after a player had raised, and the lady to his left decided to call. The action was folded back to the initial raiser who moved all in over the top for 45,000 more. The third player folded and Pan was looking to tripple up.

The Dutchman showed {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and was up against {A-}{10-}. Pan flopped a flush draw on {K-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{X-}, and the turn was a {10-}. This did not help Pan, but the river was the {9-Diamonds} which gave him the winning flush.
