Day 1c Started
Welcome back to the SKYCITY Auckland Casino!
It's time for the third and final Day 1 flight of the APPT Season 8 Auckland Main Event!
Yesterday, on Day 1b, there were 93 runners and on Day 1a there were 53 runners. That brings the total field to 146 so far.
Anything around or over 70 on Day 1c and we will surpass last year's ANZPT Auckland Main Event which featured a field of 213 players.
Regardless, we have already built quite a nice prize pool and all the players who hit the tables today will be trying to keep themselves in contention for that by making Day 2.
There were 19 survivors on the first Day 1 flight and 32 on Day 1b. Let's see how many survive today!
The cards will be in the air from 10:15am AEST and once again this is where you will find everything you need to know!
Level: 1
Blinds: 50/100
Ante: 0

A big pot has played out very early in the action.
We arrived at the table with the flop showing and over 4,000 in the pot.
Jason Cook had bet out from the big blind then called a raise to 6,500 from James Harris in the hijack.
Both players then cautiously checked the on the turn and on the river.
Cook tabled his for a pair of aces on the river which ended up taking down the pot after Harris mucked his hand.

The hand started with Anesone Braggovits opening with a raise from under the gun before Koray Turker bumped it up to 900 from the cut off. The bet was called and the two players watched the flop come down .
Turker threw out a continuation bet of 900 which was checked called before the fell on the turn. Another check call of 2,400 followed as the finally completed the board.
One final check from Braggovits saw Turker fire a final bet of 5,100 which was called.
“I got there,” said Turker somewhat apologetically before tabling his for trip eights.
Braggovits mucked his hand as he dropped down to 11,000 in chips. Turker moves up to 28,500 following the hand.

Table 7 is one of the tougher tables to kick off Day 1c of APPT Auckland.
Some of those at the table include Kiwi local and Macau regular Thomas Ward, 2011 Aussie Millions champ David Gorr, Jesse “On the Mac” McKenzie and Western Australians Patrick Healy and Sal Fazzino.
We recently watched Gorr and Fazzino battle it out in a hand, picking up the action on the flop.
Fazzino was in the under-the-gun position and it was checked to him with Gorr in the small blind. Fazzino bet 325 and Gorr made the call to bring about the on the turn. This time when Gorr checked Fazzino bet 625. Gorr called and the board completed with a .
Gorr tapped the table for a third time and Fazzino checked behind.
At showdown, Fazzino hesitated and Gorr tabled his for a pair of queens. That was enough to send Fazzino’s cards into the muck.
Despite winning this hand, Gorr has started off slowly as he currently sits with 14,500.
Fazzino is just a little under starting stack.

There have been a couple of registrations since the start of the day to bring the total on Day 1c of APPT Auckland so far to 64. Added with the first two Day 1 flights, that brings the event to 210 - three off last year's ANZPT Auckland number. Registration is open for the first three levels so hopefully we can get a few late entrants and surpass 213 players.
Luke Brabin recently took his seat over on Table 4 and won a pot. Brabin recently captured his first World Series of Poker gold bracelet when he took down the $1,100 No Limit Hold’em Accumulator event at the WSOP Asia-Pacific held in Melbourne just over a month ago.
Brabin opened to 225 from the cut off and was met with a quick raise to 600 from the player on the button. He made the call and the two players watched the flop come down .
Brabin then cautiously check called a bet of 600 before doing the same for 1,200 on the turn. The completed the board and Brabin check called a bet of 2,100 for the third time.
The player on the button tabled his for ace high before Brabin rolled over his for the best hand.
Brabin moves up to 25,000 in chips.
