Haggart Doubles

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

The action started with Xiongzhen Wu opening to 45,000 from under the gun. Christian Haggart was in the blinds, and moved all in for 210,000 in chip. With the decision back on Wu, he thought for a minute before making the call.

Haggart: {a-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Wu: {3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}

The board favoured Haggart, as it ran out {a-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{q-Hearts} giving him trip aces and the win.

Double Elimination

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

After a long period of being stuck on 17 players, we’ve just lost two players simultaneously on two different tables to now finally reach our final two tables.

On Table2, Christian Haggart and Xiongzhen Wu were all in preflop with Haggart holding {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades} against Wu’s {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}. The board ran out {3-Spades}{5-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{7-Clubs} to give Haggart the pot.

As the chips were being cut down to see if Wu would survive, there was another all-in situation over on Table 5 as Hao Tian was all in for his tournament life with {a-Hearts}{q-Spades} against Tony Cheng’s {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}. The flop of {10-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} brought a set for Cheng and left Tian looking for a jack for a straight to stay alive. The {2-Clubs} turn and {4-Spades} river completed the board to see Tian fall short of a repeat final table berth.

Meanwhile back on Table 2, Haggart narrowly covered Wu, meaning that both eliminated players will chop the prize money and share 16th place.

Hoang Exits

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Haisheng Ma opened with a raise to 50,000 before John Hoang moved all in from the cutoff. Before his stack could be cut down, play had passed to Soo Jo Kim in the small blind who also announced all in as the rail murmured with excitement. Back on Ma and he open folded pocket tens which proved to be a wise decision.

Hoang: {a-Spades}{9-Spades}
Kim: {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

Hoang would need some help and the flop of {4-Clubs}{5-Spades}{j-Spades} brought a sweat as Hoang flopped a flush draw. The {9-Hearts} turn brought even more outs for Hoang but the river was the {6-Clubs} to leave Hoang to depart in 15th place for HK$100,000 in prize money.

Meanwhile Kim is now with the chip leaders with over 800,000 in chips.

Ma Hits The Rail

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

The action started with Jiajun Liu opening to 40,000 from middle position. The table folded around to Haisheng Ma in the blinds who looked down at his cards and announced all in for 250,000 in chips. Liu snap called and the cards were shown.

Liu: {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Ma: {A-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Ma was in great shape to double up after the flop fell {8-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. Unfortunately the {3-Hearts} on the turn put Liu in front, and he would find no help on the {k-Clubs} river.

Chen Doubles Through Haggart

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Christian Haggart opened to 60,000 from the hijack before Feng Wen Chen moved all in for 374,000 from the small blind. With the decision back on Haggart, he asked for a count before announcing a call.

Chen: {A-Clubs}{k-Clubs}
Haggart: {Q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

Chen was at danger of elimination until the dealer produced a {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{7-Clubs} board. The flush was enough to give Chen a double up to almost 800,000 in chips.
