Nicholas Gazal has just doubled through Carter Gill on a board of . The money went all in on the flop with Gill holding but Gazal drew trip queens with his to double up to around 120,000 chips.
On a flop of with 40,000 or so already in the pot, Richard Furay moved all in for just under 50,000 in chips and was called by Gary Diamond who tabled for an up and down straight flush draw. Furay turned over the same hand, but in diamonds, meaning the worst case scenario for Diamond was a chopped pot.
The worst for Furay, however, was that a club would fall, giving Diamond a flush and that's exactly what happened when the popped off on the turn.
The river, though irrelevant, was the and Furay was eliminated from the tournament. After the hand, Diamond stacked up just over 300,000 in chips.
The poker area is currently being entertained with footage of Scotty Nguyen from this year's World Series of Poker on the room's big screen. He is overheard to say that he is happy for the footage to be shown...well up until the final table anyway (Scotty just missed a final table appearance at that event)!
Bruno Portaro raised pre-flop to 7,000 and Jeremiah Vinsant re-raised to 20,000. Portaro called and they saw a flop of . When Sol Bergren leads out on the flop of he is feeling pretty confident that his two pair with are good. However when Aleks Lackovic check-raises him, Bergren has a decision to make. With plenty of chips in front of him Bergren commits to the hand and puts Lackovic all in. Lackovic makes the call and shows for a larger two pair. The turn brings the and river and Lackovic doubles up to over 180,000 in chips.
Scotty Nguyen has just eliminated both John Butler and David St. Eloi from the tournament in one fell swoop. The trio got all of the money in before the flop, each holding a pocket pair, but Scotty had the best of it:
