Jeon Busts The Godfather

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

The Godfather of Poker in the Philippines has been rubbed out by chip leader Seung Soo Jeon.

Wally Sombero had just lost most of his stack to his flush-making neighbor on the left when he got it all in preflop for less than one big blind. Jeon happened to be in the big blind and after the small blind called, he saw an offer he couldn't refuse and checked as well. Jeon then pushed the calling small blind off the pot after the {8-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop with {5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}.

Sombero had {a-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and called for a heart on the turn as the {10-Hearts} came, giving Jeon a flush, but him a bigger flush draw. However, the {4-Clubs} river ended all hope for the Godfather.

Seung Soo Jeon
Seung Soo Jeon

Day 1b and overall chip leader Seung Soo Jeon started slow this morning but just woke up, three-betting an aggressive short stack that made a raise at his table to force a fold and pick up a pot.

In the meantime, Day 1a chip leader Daniel Belov, second in chips to start Day 2, hasn't woken up at all. His seat sits empty and his stack is being blinded off with word he has yet to get out of his bed in the hotel across the road.
