Steicke Sticks It to His Table

David Steicke has been busy pushing his stack around today. After the under-the-gun player opened with a raise to 700 and one person called, Steicke deliberated his action from the big blind, calmly shuffling chips the whole time. His decision was to push all in for 8,400. Neither of his opponents had the stomach for that kind of bet. They both quickly folded.

"Good bet, good bet," one person said to Steicke as he collected the pot.

Huck Seed Eliminated

Huck Seed was crippled very early on in proceedings and had been battling with a very short stack for most of the day. He recently found a spot to get his last few chips in the middle with {A-}{7-} against an opponent's {A-}{3-}, but a three on the board gave his opponent the pot and sent Seed to the rail.

After his elimination he wandered past another player to ask how he was doing in the tournament.

"Folding," replied the player bluntly.

"I wish I would've done more of that!" replied Seed.

Pedley Puts the Pedal to the Metal

Michael Pedley has eliminated an opponent. Pedley opened the pot with a preflop raise to 700. His opponent, sitting in the cutoff, reraised all in fo 4,200 total. When action folded back to Pedley he made the call and tabled {A-Hearts} {J-Clubs}. He had his opponent's {Q-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} dominated, even moreso when the flop came {A-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} {3-Hearts}. The {Q-Spades} on the turn wasn't enough to save his opponent. The river blanked out {5-Diamonds}.

Pedley now has about 13,500.

Another Set for Dodds

Mel Judah opened with a raise to 600 from middle position and Joel Dodds made the call in the small blind. The flop came down {Q-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and Dodds checked to Judah who bet out 700. Dodds then check-raised to 2,000 causing Judah to fold his hand.

Dodds then flashed the {4-Diamonds} saying, "I guess you can guess what the other one is as well? I would..." and showed the {4-Clubs} for a set of fours.

Dodds is up to 18,000 chips, with Judah now struggling with under 7,000.

Overheard at the Tables

"I'm folding my way to the top 100. Then I can say I'm ranked in the top 100 in Asia."

"You hurt my feelings with that raise."
"You have feelings?"

A player had two Portuguese egg tarts delivered to his table and saw a player at a neighboring table hungrily eying them. "They look good, eh? I'll sell you one for 5,000 chips," he said.
"That's cheap!" responded the other player.

The prayer of a short stack: "Somebody double me up... please!"

With 154 players today joining the 103 who took to the felt yesterday, we officially have a total number of 257 entrants for the 2008 Asian Poker Tour Macau Main Event.

With a guaranteed prize pool of US$1.5 million for this tournament, there is a nice little overlay for players who participated in this event.

The top 40 players will be paid, receiving at least US$6,000 for their efforts, while one lucky player will walk away on Sunday evening with a handsome US$500,000!
